I too think The Marvels is pretty much doomed this November. Who exactly is hyped for it?

I am flying back to LA In November to see it with my friend (and force @Plain Old Tele to come with).

They're not going to have Superman in a dead month like September or October. It'll be a summer release.

DC's most profitable movie ever was an October Release

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3’ Still Orbiting $110M Opening, Franchise Lands Third ‘A’ CinemaScore – Saturday Box Office

SATURDAY UPDATE, after Friday exclusive: refresh for updates and for chart…Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 so far is staying on track with a $48.2M Saturday, still on its way to a $110M opening per early AM industry estimates. Exits remain high with the threequel getting its third A CinemaScore, and PostTrak at 91% positive, 79% definite recommend. As we told you yesterday, GOTG3 was modeling out like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, however, some saw it going under $100M — which would be an awful start for the third fully opened summer after the pandemic. Yes, this opening is off 25% from GOTG2’s $146.5M start, but it’s also 17% ahead of the original 2014 movie’s $94.3M opening. We’ll postmortem GOTG3 after it gets through its Saturday. GOTG3 is pushing overall weekend ticket sales for the first weekend of summer to around $152M, -32% from a year ago when Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with its $187.4M opening pushing tickets sales to $222.3M.

They had the opportunity to establish Captain Marvel in Endgame; she could have been part of the team, but they reduced her to a cameo. Now it remains to be seen if The Marvels flops and what its effect will be on the MCU. If she is the leader of the Avengers like she is now in the comics, it will have a very bad effect on the next Avengers movies. Haters won't take a minute to make the narrative that no one likes Captain Marvel and that people have rejected the leader of the Avengers. Just like the narrative that Captain Marvel is a bad movie and Brie Larson hates the cast is hurting The Marvels, the narrative that people have rejected the leader of the Avengers will hurt Avengers movies if she is indeed the leader.

What narrative? GA doesn't know about gossip. If anything hurts The Marvels that's title that omits CM,  bland af trailer and limp dick team. This is not the all-star team but CM and 2 Literal Who's, one that barely anyone remembers from Wandavision and the other that barely anyone knows cause barely anyone watched her flop show. I don't know why Marvel thought this was a good idea. Maybe they expected that Monica and Kamala would blow up thanks to D+ shows but that was counting chickens before they hatched. Just stupid. Anyway, it's what it is. DUNC II and shockingly Songbirds and Snakes released much stronger trailers with real hooks. They should not worry.

Deadline really forgetting context in their reporting

comping a 2014 OW for the first of a series to the grand finale in 2023 without any mention of ticket prices or overall context is weird.
