I'm in Florida! I actually just meant the west coast of the state since the storm is coming in from that side and is going to hit the west coast and panhandle the worst.

Did you even think to consider that maybe forecasters are being cautious after Transformers One underperformed this past weekend? I think The Wild Robot will do better than TOne, but it makes sense to see these $25M-$30M projections. It's also pretty damn close to where plenty of other DreamWorks Animation films have landed on their opening weekends. 

 

Nothing about that forecast (outside of claiming The Bad Guys underperformed) is even close to delusional.

DWA always struggles to perform strong ow's for "original" releases. 40m ow would be great.

So the budget is only $78 M. That's good. I'm not sure 200 M price tags at Pixar is unavoidable thing

Saw the movie, I had a good time.

 

It may not be as emotionally impactful as the first book, but I still liked.

 

Now, I’m starting to grow a little concerned about this movie’s box office, based on recent tracking.

The headline downplays it but Wild Robot had an excellent hold in Australia, apparently increased about 30% from its true opening weekend ($1.15m) and now at $4.5m USD gross:

 

Second weekend hold comps:

KFP4 : +10%

Elemental: -14%

The Bad Guys: -17%

Inside Out 2: -18%

IF: -28%

Shrek 2 and 3 did. As far as non-sequels go only Secret Life of Pets (probably the most high concept of high concept pitches)
