They actually had a story on MSNBC this morning about how Think Like A Man will unseat Hunger Games this weekend. I was like "Naww, ya don't say?" Slow news day? lol

That's interesting. Most online sites has The Lucky Ones taking down THG. I do use the "term" taking down loosely, lol.

Think Like a Man did 550K at midnights last night, which according to boxoffice.com is "really strong for a non sequel".

This seems to be an event film for black people, should be quite frontloaded.

I know, I thought the same thing when I saw the MSNBC guy say it on a "news break" on the Weather Channel this morning. I was like .... huh? I thought it was supposed to be The Lucky One doing it. Although I imagine both may gross higher than HG this weekend.

I know, so annoying. If Efron's movie finishes ahead of THG this weekend it will get him all kinds of press as a box office champ

"event film"what makes you think that? Is it because of Steve Harvey?

Well the book is rather popular among black people. On Thursday it accounted for 42% of Fandango sales, that's pretty high for a romantic comedy. I can see this having a Madea like run. OW will be pretty big and account for 40%+ of its total.Oh and nice increase for THG! Let's hope it can have a huge Friday increase to go with it. :)

Oh I see. So I guess it's Steve Harvey's book. I kind of remember something about it.The Lucky Ones is based on a popular Nicholas Sparks book as well.Let's see which adaptation will win.TLK said Think Like a Man is gonna take the weekend. He gets props if this holds true. Edited by ECSTASY

I'm leaning towards Think Like a Man at the moment. I think it has a shot at 30m TBH. The Lucky One should be able to clear 20m. THG is looking at a 13-14m weekend. The top 3 movies at the BO will all be book adaptations!
