Friday numbers first post

Recommended Posts

It's gonna do around 26m-28m while only being in 2,017 theaters? Why didn't they release it in over 2,800?

Could it be a matter of demographic locations? E.g., not releasing it in small towns with predominantly white populations?Besides, I suspect that once you get past 2000 theatres, the theatres that you add are probably small outfits with just a few screens and very little traffic anyways.

May will be a boring month too after TA in a lot of ways. Dark Shadows over performing is probably the most exciting thing we can hope for.

It will be fun to follow Avengers for the whole month of May.

That is massive for TLAM! :o

It really is. That's literally double what I had it at. Well I guess April had to have at least one breakout film though or it wouldn't be 2012. :PThat's also massive for Chimpanzee considering it's a documentary. Should soar past Earth's $8m to get the highest OW for one of those. Nikke's 9m for the weekend is way off if it had a $3.5m Friday. Could be closer to $12m. Edited by MovieMan89

Very impressive numbers for all three openers. Chimpanzee is a kids movie so it should increase on Saturday and then Sunday is earth day. $10 million weekend is not out of question with a 3,5 million opening.
