Tues Numbers ERC

Recommended Posts

Well, sometimes films drop on Tuesday like TLAM yesterday or DH2 on a regular basis last summer.

- This is 2012- This isn't summer.- This isn't the opening week.- Monday wasn't a holiday.A decrease on Tuesday was out of question. Now tomorrow.... a decrease is inevitable.

THG's been pretty consistent with respect to Tuesday being its strongest weekday. The only exceptions have been times when, as expected, another day is inflated (Monday after OW, Thursday/Monday before/after Easter).

Andrew, do you still think TLIAM will hit 100M?

I am doubtful now...I was hoping for a flat Tuesday number at worst. It should be noted that TLAM did have a very strong Monday hold for most films (only down -67%). And it is only a -5% decrease. It could see a strong weekend hold due to lack of competition however the odds are against that because most urban comedies fall pretty hard. The PG-13 rating might help it. I am seeing an 16M second weekend for this and a total around 80M-85M.

TLAM's number wouldn't have been that bad if the Lucky One hadn't increased by 29%.Still, though I think it'll level out soon though of course 2nd weekend drop has always been key. It'll beat most of Tyler Perry's movies so that can only be a good thing.
