Gavin Feng
Quote After an unusually close box office race, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” emerged victorious over newcomer Paramount and Hasbro’s animated “Transformers One” to retain the No. 1 spot for three consecutive weekends. The spooky Warner Bros. sequel added a strong $26 million from 4,172 theaters, bringing its tally to $225 million domestically and nearly $300 million globally.

Flopped
The Transformers live action movies were unwatchable (the first one was ok by Bay standards), what made them think people would want an animated one?

Gavin Feng
14 minutes ago, BadOlCatSylvester said: It couldn't even open at #1. This is just sad. Variety says there is still hope in theory. Quote “Transformers One,” an origin story directed by Josh Cooley (“Toy Story 4”) about the feuding Autobots and Decepticons, has received positive reviews and encouraging audience scores, so ticket sales could rebound in the coming weeks. Several post-pandemic animated films, including Pixar’s “Elemental” and Illumination’s “Migration,” ended up having the staying power to keep bringing in audiences in the months after their debuts. Yet “Transformers One” might face competition from “The Wild Robot,” an animated film that opens on Sept. 27.

There is absolutely hope it could still rebound a little. Only problem is another great one also opens next weekend.
Starphanluke
Call me crazy, but I think Paramount should do a Hail Mary and get Bay back for whatever Transformers movie comes next. His weird hyper-militarism would work super well for this Transformers GI Joe movie if it’s truly happening. At the very least, we’d finally learn if Bay is truly the secret sauce or not. And it’d be 10 years since his last TF movie. That’s enough time for the stink to wear off and the nostalgia to set in.
AniNate
Best case scenario is Mutant Mayhem legs. That had no competition and only managed 3.71 multiplier from its three day. I doubt TFOne hits $100mil

Grand Cine
The legs for OS are pretty good , -33% vs LW. Possibly 150M OS , 400M WW are locked. The only issue is Dune 2 will stay the king of Warner in US.
