According to the police investigation, they made images of Jump available on the internet before release and by copying the magazines. The early magazines have been obtained through stores in Tokyo that have been breaking the street date. 

 

The police suspsects other individuals to be involved too and are conducting a thorough investigation."

As for the Demon Slayer, it could end up like DBS 2022 at ¥2.5B or so. OW estimates at ¥590M i.e. far off from 2023 Movie's ¥1159M Debut

not a surprise a lot of the audience did not return considering last year's was literally just episodes played in sequence without even editing out bits like the OP etc. so they would actually flow together

 

even moreso when the content isn't as interesting (neither last season's episode, nor the new one's)

 

that said the only cost is distribution here, they will make a ton of profit again even if much less than last year

With the Pixar releases (Soul, Turning Red, Luca) being mostly duds in USA+Canada, I wonder how they'll do in Japan. I mean TR sold about 50,000 tickets on its OW, so how much could you possibly expect from Japan? 🤷‍♂️Also I don't see these movies listed on Japanese cinema websites quite yet. 🤔
