ACCA
I dont want to drag this topic too long ACCA, but would you call TF2 over-rated? I mean, some people (like baumer) said it was a fantastic film. You mean overall? I would say not really. Critics hated it, the audience enjoyed it, but they didn't love it. The movie did make big money at the box office and home video. It is an enjoyable film if you like action, but otherwise there's not much else to it. The film never recieved huge praise from anyone, and I personally wouldn't call it overrated. The opening weekend was absolutely huge for it, thanks to the anticipation built up from TF1, but the legs were average. Squaremaster316
The final battle in the Avengers was mostly technically sound, but quite dull and tedious.
Blankments
Not me, but both my father and my brother think that the action in STID was a lot more thrilling than Man of Steel's action...

STID's large-scale horrific destruction is just as bad as that in Man of Steel, despite not getting any criticism.
dashrendar44
STID's large-scale horrific destruction is just as bad as that in Man of Steel, despite not getting any criticism. It did get criticism. In fact, in every articles about MoS destruction porn (this one for exemple), there's a mention of STiD's climax in SF and his 9/11 reminiscent destruction played for entertainment purpose, how it is shamefully glossed over by the end of the movie like MoS but MoS is even worse because Superman is part of it whereas StiD it is just the bad guy's ship that did the wreckage. There's a slight difference. Edited July 10, 2013 by dashrendar44
Ozymandias
STID's large-scale horrific destruction is just as bad as that in Man of Steel, despite not getting any criticism. Thats probably because Khan is the villain(gasp) and clearly didn't give a shit about the people in the city he crashed the ship into.
Blankments
STID's large-scale horrific destruction is just as bad as that in Man of Steel, despite not getting any criticism. Actually, that wasn't a part of their reasoning; they just thought that the gunfights, dogfights, space jumps, and fist fights were more exciting and varied than "Superman just punching people over and over again."

Jessie
STID's large-scale horrific destruction is just as bad as that in Man of Steel, despite not getting any criticism. If anything , the fact they couldn't stop Kahn killing a shit load of people made it that bit more realistic. Jawa
If anything , the fact they couldn't stop Kahn killing a shit load of people made it that bit more realistic. My problem with it was more that nobody seemed to care after it happened and nobody mentioned it by the end of the movie, and it doesn't look like they'll revisit it if they make another film. Man of Steel's destruction was just as bad (and a bit was caused by Superman), but I expect that to be a plot point in the next film so that it's not totally ignored.

Squaremaster316
The Mist (2007) has one of the best, most refreshing film endings ever.
Blankments
I don't think this is an unpopular opinion. I haven't heard a single person praise STID's action, whereas Man of Steel always has its action brought up in discussion.
Jared Miller
I haven't heard a single person praise STID's action, whereas Man of Steel always has its action brought up in discussion. I'd say the action in STID is more thrilling than Man of Steel (and also much more well distributed throughout the film). I felt much more tension during Star Trek than I ever did with Man of Steel. But I enjoyed the spectacle and intensity of the action in MoS.
