Best Adapted Screenplay-2012

Recommended Posts

Musicals don't win screenplay is the thing.

Well this movie could break the record for most noms in the most categories, so it's not out of the question, and also it's the entire academy that votes, so if Les Mis really sweeps, then I can totally see Academy members going, "Well, I'm voting for Les Mis in a lot of categories, and it's got a boatload of noms I might as well just throw Screenplay in there." It's kind of like how Hugo won 5 awards in the techs last year. But, with that being said, I'm not predicting it for a win, I'm thinking:1. Argo2. Les Mis3. SLP (It's too light, and not what I think the Academy loves enough for it to translate to wins anywhere except weakass Actress, and even there I'm thinking she probably will end up getting upsetted.)4. Lincoln5. Anna Karenina (Having read the screenplay, and seen the movie, I can totally seeing this get in, it's really a prestige pic) Edited by riczhang

I guess Argo, SLP and Lincoln are pretty much locked here. With two spots left, I'd just like them to not nominate Les Mis at all and go with Killing Them Softly and The Perks of Being a Wallflower instead. In reality, though, I'll have to be very happy if even one of them makes it... and even then, it will need to upset Anna Karenina, Life of Pi or The Sessions for the fifth spot. Damn.
