    • I hope not–it would tarnish the brand since it is a cash crab

The studios are not such box office nerds (like the members on this forum) to try to push a movie to #2. If it was to close to getting the #1 spot of all-time, maybe.Avengers should shoot for 622.1 million to pass Forrest Gump for #24 all-time on the list that means something--the adjusted list.

It won't actually beat Forrest Gump because it's in 3D.

Premature, perhaps a little audacious, maybe even a bit naive..... but stupid? No. I think you can articulate yourself better than that.

Sorry if it has offended you, but it's a stupid thread.1) We dont know there's a re-release.2) We dont know if a re-relese will take Titanic down.Nothing happened yet, and yet the title of the thread is saying everything you wished has happened already. It doesnt make sense, AT ALL.

Lol, that is more like it. The thread is not what I wish would happen and obviously it makes sense whether or not you disagree completely. You just happen to disagree completely which is your right. We can revisit this topic in August or when they announce a rerelease (if they do).

I don't care. I never liked including re-releases in gross comparisons, when one movie hasn't been re-released yet.

TA grossed more than $601m therefore it beat Titanic (unadjusted). Period. TA will likely get a re-release before TA2 comes out. We can then compare (Original Runs + 1st re-release) but right now it's like comparing Gala apples vs McIntosh apples. The same but different.
