What the hell?? A movie makes almost 1m admissions in a day and people don't talk about it? At the rate this is going this wil hit about 3m adm this weekend, which is almost a 100% increase over the last weekend. So what total is it gunning for? 15m adm? Does it have a chance at the title of highest grossing/most attended movie in the market?

Also, I see Age of Shadows is distributed by Warner in SK. They are having such a great year.

Is Ben-Hur overperforming or Mag7 doing weak? Or both doing good...

I'd say Ben Hur is doing better than expected after the US performance. Mag is a little low especially considering the Korean actor in it.

The original Ben Hur was given a rerelease in theatres a few weeks back, that may have help the cause of the new one a little.

It's kinda common for the tentpole releases to overperform during the holidays. (It was the Korean thanksgiving week) It will stabilize.

Plus we've already had three "1M+ adm. per day" novelty players this year so.. 15M is totally out of question and even 10M is not guaranteed. If it follows the run of the similarly scheduled/similarly performing Korean Thanksgiving tentpole from 3 years ago, The Face Reader then it'll finish at 9M.

Gong Yoo is having an incredible year! Train to Busan exploded and now Age of Shadows is doing very well too. Good for him. I have always liked him as an actor.

My love Song Kang Ho with another hit :wub:

Anyone knows if the movie is good?

Doctor Strange release date in South Korea is set for the 25th of October, which is pretty uncommon considering it's a Tuesday (most films get a Wed/Thur release).

Anyway, it looks like Korea will be the first country to get this and I for one can't wait! :)

It's pretty good, enjoyed the action and acting overall. The film itself has a pretty similar feel to Assassination from last year.

<Song Kang-ho hits 100 million admissions>

_DX_8149.jpg

With his most recent film "Age of shadows" reaching 7M admissions, Song Jang-ho has become the second actor in Korean film history to acquire more than 100M admissions, the first being Oh dal-su. Song Kang-ho last year celebrated the 20th year since his debut in 1996 with the film "The day a pig fell into a well". He has since enjoyed a stellar career with films like Swiri, Number3, Memories of murder, JSA, THe Host, Snowpiercer and so on.
