keysersoze123
Passengers WOM is bad looking at Naver. its already at 8.32. Will fall off the cliff soon and stop around 1m admissions overall. R1 also has bombed badly. Will barely make 1m admissions. Your Name should have a great run. I am hoping it will crack at least 5m admissions. Edited January 8, 2017 by keysersoze123

Rsyu
WIth 1,182,249 admissions over it's first weekend, Your Name is already the third most attended Japenese animated film in Korea behind Howl's moving castle and Ponyo. It is the fifth biggest Japanese film overall behind the aforementioned films and "Rikidozan: A hero extraordinary" and "The Last Samurai", the fourth and fifth most attended films respectively. Records for some of the older films before 2002 are pretty unreliable, but several works such as "spirited Away" which managed 937,459 admissions in seoul, giving it an estimate of around 2-2.5M admissions nationwide, is thought to have done some good business also.
Rsyu
La La Land is also enjoying remarkable success, showing again the strength of musical themed, sentimental films in Korea following on the already big successes of similar films such as Begin again, whiplash, Frozen etc. It's currently standing at 2,726,599 admissions and $18.92 million gross, making Korea the biggest success among foreign territories. Rsyu
Moana moved it's release schedule up by one week I think. It's set to be released this coming Thursday (12th) instead of the 18th. For now, presales are surprisingly weak, a lot lower than Frozen was before it's release (right now it's at 11,648 / 8.6%).

Despite this, the overall box office admissions stayed roughly on par, and increased in size a little in gross comparisons. This suggests that the box office pie was more evenly spread among the films, although problems still exist with getting screen time for some of the smaller, independent films and unbalanced screen times towards the films distributed by major chains.
