Fair enough, but I still believe there was more confidence in Nolan, stemming from Memento(not Insomnia). Therefore, generally speaking, I think there was more goodwill & trust towards him than Webb.< I mean, we're talking music videos & (500) Days of Summer here.

And SM3 wasn't hated as B&R, not at the same level

Most definitely true, but audiences were given a longer period of time to allow the awful eXperience that was B&R to fade away from memory. Also, the Bat franchise had already changed the man behind the cowl, not once... but twice, making the gen pop more accustomed to that prospect, as well.
