zackzack
Still think MOS will get 400+ M OS.. It will fall short of my 870M WW lowend though. But we still kicked the crap out of IM1, IM2 possibly, beat up on Xmen films.. .. So part 1 in the agenda to match and potentially surpass Disneys Marvel world is a go.. Cant wait to see what Superman Sequels, The Flash, WW, The reboot of GL does . We also beat SM reboot Domestically like i predicted, and just might beat it WW. Stay tuned The poor of fortune of Ryan Reynolds continues. Can this guy get a break? Edited July 20, 2013 by zackzack

Olive
Man of Steel reached the $350 million overseas mark after earning $6 million from 60 markets. Fans are already looking forward to the upcoming Superman sequel featuring Batman, a project that practically has money dripping off of it. The only way to raise the expectations on the upcoming Superman/Batman film directed by Zack Snyder and Executive Produced by Christopher Nolan is if Warner Bros. could somehow tie-in Harry Potter as the villain. Top markets for Man of Steel include China ($63M), the U.K. ($46m), Mexico ($21.1M), Australia ($21M), France ($18.8M), South Korea ($15.2M), and Russia ($10.7M). Current markets will make 15M more, And Japan 20M OS will end up 385M
AdamKendall
Current markets will make 15M more, And Japan 20M OS will end up 385M So should be around 675 million world wide as domestic will be somewhere between 290-295.

peludo
Sad, 700m would be great, something under that is a bit disappointing 699 is disapointing and 700 great? It is just a milestone. 675 will be nearly as good as 700. No need to worry too much about that.

zackzack
. ..I think MOS has to be performing at or close to the high end of WB expectations because they had to bring this film out after the failure of SR and it will almost double the WW take. I think WB's high end expectations of MoS is closer to $1B WW And the announcement of Batman Team Up is a bit overwrought. Why can't they milk the current line up a bit more. Instead do a FLASH or WONDER WOMAN movie, build the DC universe deliberately like Marvel+Disney do. GREEN ARROW did well on TV, they could think about bringing the character into the movies. OT: Batman has no superpower. How does he fight a God in the upcoming sequel? Edited July 22, 2013 by zackzack
Moviedweeb
To directly replicate the Marvel process would be boring and obvious. I like that WB is at least taking a different route towards the Justice League.
Juby
So should be around 675 million world wide as domestic will be somewhere between 290-295. There's no chance to beat Inception. $290 DOM is maximum.

And btw 1 billion was low end of WB! They predicted this to pass DH part 2!! read this - http://variety.com/2013/film/news/warner-bros-sets-bar-high-for-latest-and-priciest-incarnation-of-superman-1200493334/
KATCH-2D2
To directly replicate the Marvel process would be boring and obvious. I like that WB is at least taking a different route towards the Justice League. Agree. I love what Marvel did leading up to TA but I always wish that I wouldn't have to watch another 5 SH movies before I could see JL. MOS was necessary of course. I love the genre but watching 5-6 SH movies per year is wayyyyyyy too much.

SR couldn't even crack $200 OS and that movie was way more anticipated and was released when the market wasn't oversaturated with similar movies. MOS did just fine, too bad WOM killed it's leg. I love the movie to death but obviously me and GA want a different movie.

Anyway watch the dark knight returns part 1 and 2 both!! In part 2 you will see how batman beat superman! He didn't beat superman, it wasn't even a fight considering the fact that superman wasn't intent on hurting the old fart, I remember that panel where superman gently taps batman and breaks 2 of his ribs despite of the heavy armor, and superman pleaded with bruce to stop. If superman wanted to fight properly he would've destroyed the washed up batman in seconds and thats despite the fact that he was weakened from the nuke and the kryptonite arrow by GA. It always amazes me how fan boys bitch about superman being too powerful yet those same fanboys argue that batman can beat superman, its non sense. Batman should stick to fighting clowns like joker and penguin or bronze tiger (who made batman his bitch when they met).
htall90
Lol anyone with any sense would never predict 1 billion for mos a reboot. I like a lot of people said $650 mil and was almost right.

messipotamia
I said 500-520 million even if the film is spectacular! And the reason I said that because reboots just don't tend to break records.Consider this out of all the following reboots; casino royal, star trek 09, BB, ASM, incredible hulk, rise of planet of the apes only spiderman broke the 700 mill mark and thats due to the brand's popularity internationally. Man of steel 630 mill and counting was quite a surprise to me since the film was good not great while casino royal was brilliant IMO yet it just missed the 600 mill mark while BB and star trek were universally acclaimed and neither were able to crack the 400 mark. Could MOS have done better? absolutely! if it was better received it would've likely broke the 700 mill mark but it's final tally of 650-660 mill is a true victory for a reboot coming on the heels of SR. This film is the highest grossing reboot domestically and the second highest grossing reboot WW. Leyla
Anyone happen to know Kal-El's username at SHH? Cause I visited the MOS boards at SHH recently, and in the BO thread, there's a user who sounded so much like him.He claimed that MOS will gross 800M+ WW with more than 500M OS cause WB's gonna for sure re-release it OS so that the movies will get another 120M+ or so at least in OS markets lollll
