Dory won't move and has no reason to move. A film that will benefit the most from Thansgiving and Christmas

Dory should move to June. Basically no competition for the whole month.

 

EDIT: MJ2 moving there would probably be fine too.

June of 2015? You have justice league, assasin's creed (diff audience, but possibly some crossover), and terminator 5.....

Dory's current release date is a huge mistake, I'm sorry. It's opening 5 days after MJ2, 2 weeks before Alvin, and 4 weeks before KFP3. It needs to move if MJ2 doesn't.

I think Peanuts could move a week earlier to October 30th and take advantage of Halloween being on a Saturday, Puss in Boots did fairly well when. DWA moved it a week forward.

That seems pretty ballsy of Disney. I have a really strong feeling that Lionsgate, also ballsy, won't budge. Seems like there is a good chance those two will stay, if it was Disney's intention for an epic fight.

Justice League won't be ready until 2016 or 2017, MoS 2 will likely get a summer or holiday slot and possibly a solo DC film either in 2015 or 2016,

I am laughing at this "Mockingjay will damage Finding Dory thing". Mockingjay will open huge then drop off the face of the Earth. That is the nature of a film like that. Dory will still be making money in January and will take more advantage of Christmas holidays.

Summer 2016. There's little reason not to.

Besides the fact that it's the second half of one movie and 18 months is way too long of a gap for that.

But there's already a Pixar movie in June: Inside Out.  This is the first time they're releasing 2 Pixar movies in 1 year, there's just no way they'd put them both in the same month.  Maybe Finding Dory and Inside Out should switch.
