The47th
FBB added little to DOFP, in content or quality. But I am sure her joining the movie added million-worth extra free PR. Many people in China heard about DOFP and X-MEN (for the first time) because of her. Yes. People probably didn't go to the cinema because of her, but maybe they read about the movie thanks to her appearance. I think it was a very smart move by Fox. Archerdude
Exactly same OW as CA2. FBB added little to DOFP, in content or quality. But I am sure her joining the movie added million-worth extra free PR. Many people in China heard about DOFP and X-MEN (for the first time) because of her. Makes perfect sense, end of the day FBB is very polarizing but no one can doubt she attracts media and coverage, for better or for worse, in DOFP's case, results prove for better. Leyla
I heard there were mixed reactions in China to the amount of screen time Fan Bingbing got. Apparently she only got one line too, "Time's up" which is a shame she had the coolest skillset it IS a shame she's the best

Archerdude
Best yet to come for DOFP, they have a holiday weekend this week...remains to be seen if Overheard 3 is going to be a threat, but it being non-3D should help.
Olive
Wanda cinemas will screen Overheard 3 on IMAX from Thursday, this just kills the chance for Spidey passing 600M. It may end up less than 590M yuan. Edited May 27, 2014 by Olive Maximoff
Fake
Holiday? That means DOFP may hit 500m by Sunday itself.
A Marvel Fanboy
It should hit 500m by Sunday. Try to sort out how this and next week could play like (note: it's the first time we run into such a pattern since China Bo is actively tracked, so take it with a grain of salt): 5.26 --- 34m 5.27 --- 35m 5.28 --- 32m 5.29 --- 22m ---- Overheard 3 opens 5.30 --- 30m ---- a bunch of animations open 5.31 --- 50m 6.1 --- 60m ----- Children's Day: Last year STID did 43m on the same day, which was its 5th day; this will be X's 10th D. That makes a 263m 2nd week and nearly 510m total after 10. CA2 did 257m on same frame for a similar cume. The real diff should be set on 3rd week: 6.2 --- 40m+ --- holiday 6.3 --- 17m 6.4 --- 15m 6.5 --- 13m 6.6 --- 15m ---- Edge opens 6.7 --- 27m 6.8 --- 21m 148m 3rd week for 650m- cume; CA2 was 112m. The holiday Monday (Dragon Boat Festival) really helps. After that, it could (and probably will) drop fast but still make another 70~80m before it closes. So this is basically a 720m+ blockbuster we are looking at. This Thu/Fr/Sat/Sun and even next Mon will all be key points to watch. One step misses, all in vain. Thanks to China's special (and annoying) holiday system, the pattern differs every year. On the other hand, Bona's all star tentpole Overheard 3 should be big as well. 4-days opening looks to be: 5.29 --- 30m 5.30 --- 35m 5.31 --- 53m 6.1 --- 60m The suspense: Will its first few days all be bigger than X ? The two pics should be neck to neck with each other next week. Overheard wins weekday, X wins weekend but Edge bigger than them both on weekend. Target for Edge 3day OW is 100m. Last week the total box office finally craws over 500m after three weak and disappointing weeks in May; this week should be over 600m, the peak between Spring holiday and TF4. A Marvel Fanboy
Children's Day is (and it should be) eyeing 200m+ national total. Last year was 145m. Edited May 27, 2014 by firedeep

Hernan Gonzalez
China’s State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT) had announced that box office revenue for 2014 passed RMB10bn ($1.6bn) on May 21. The benchmark was passed in 141 days, compared to 170 days in 2013. During the period Jan 1-May 21, 2014, local films took a 56% market share.

a2k
I would wait to see if not giving decent screen time to Bingbing Fan will lead to bigger than expected drops after a bigger than expected ow. I don't follow China's bo so will trust you good folks with the predictions. But considering how much it has over-performed, the Fan factor could be worth some skepticism.
