He didn't mean that they literally wait in line, it was just a comment about Japan's good legs, and how people will wait to see a film a long time after it comes out. There is no shortage in theatres in Japan.

Actually I think it works for them both ways: they have enough cinemas because they can wait and the good legs of movies come from very few cinema theaters compared to a still huge population.

I think at this point saying anything is not good for transformers in China is pretty ridiculous. The movie could get pulled from theaters right now and it would still be the record holder by quite a margin. It really doesn't matter if it hits 300 or 280 or 285 or 290. For people who were let down by Fri number, Firedeep did predict this a few days ago..

 

Tuesday appears to be 51m. 

 

53/51/45/39/40/60/50 = 338m week, cume 1712m $276m by Sunday ? Hmm ...

If he was right about the rest this would make $270mil + by Sunday, how is it bad in any way?

So far it is closely following my projection which will take it over 300m. It will be at 288-289m after next Thursday, so it will have to fall spectacularly hard next weekend not to get there.On the other hand, I don't see it doing more than 310m unless it gets an extension.
