Ooh the rating is better than what I thought it might be. But an 8.3 is still not high enough to save Solo. Maybe it might add a few extra millions or extend legs slightly.

 

Let’s see how the day goes and what multi it manages today and how the PS looks for tomorrow. It will tell us more about its run than the ratings can. 

 

Its at 7.9m yuan at 2pm and probably will be passed by IW soon on Maoyan. I dont know what the midpoint is exactly but its usually 2-2:30. So if thats the case then Solo is looking at 16-17 by the end of the day. A typical multi will get it to 20 whereas Maoyan predicted a 6 multi for a total of 30.

8.83m Yuan at 3 pm. I think it is heading to around a 17m ($2.66m usd) OD. Lets see if evening shows are stronger or not. At this rate IW will overtake it in a couple of hours

SOLO OD only dropped 67% from TLJ. That's one of the better drops among all OS markets.

Yes. Evening shows did comparitively well. Even IW picked up in the evening.

I have a "not bad" feeling that Ranger Solo will do relatively well (compared to the doom and gloom expectation) in China. It is an action pack fast pace movie, and does not require prior viewing of SW movies. I will not be surprised if its total gross in China drops less than 50% from TLJ.
