I don't see how MI5 makes 1.27B/$200m. It may have trouble getting to 1B w this OD, 115m~.  JW was more a family movie w great WOM spreading across more demos. 38% hold in its second weekend

 

I thought T5's evenings looked suspiciously weak after 100 reg opened

 

AOU and  FF7 did 10-11x day 2 plus OD.

TF4 did 10x its first weekday plus OW

T5 mite have done 10-11x day2 plus OD if not for possible fraud. otherwise it will do 9x

JW did 15x day 2 but again we're dealing w more a mixed audience, less front load and great holds

 

MI5's demo fits in with the first 3 movies. If it can hold decent and do 75m tomorrow I think we'll see 900m to 1B

I checked yesterdays SK BOM (it even shows $0 earners), the movie is not listed on it = seems actually not being released there, it's not listed at IMDb ... are you sure it will get released there?

Big question is how Minions impact MI5 in terms of screen count. That will tell us where its headed.

Even less than my lower end, with Minions coming on Sunday, it will struggle to make 1B yuan..

If MI5 doesn't make 1B yuan, we should really re-think our expectations for Minions, KFP3, Ice Age and all big films that we all thought will do crazy numbers. MI5 has the best shot to be huge so maybe the market is leaning towards dispersed revenue and more local hits?

Just a thought.

MI4 made close to 700M yuan 3.5 years ago, considering the big market -expanding, less than $200M is bad...

MI5 - 1000M -2015.9
