With such a good OD and great WOM (9.4 on douban is unheard of in recent years); OW will be 130m+, $100m is absolutely locked; people are already calling 1B (7x+ multiplier) for Zootopia with expected extended run. (in other words, Zootopia is possible to beat KFP3). I think it's heading to 130m+ OW, it should increase next weekend. A Marvel Fanboy Posted March 4, 2016 Author Share Posted March 4, 2016 I know some of you guys wont like to hear this, but Zootopia and Detective Chinatown are very alike: the two both are buddy comedy though, revolving around a mystery with similar narrative and character setting (I can tell who in Detective Chinatown 'is' who in Zootopia ... you would know what I mean if you have seen the former); the themes are a bit different though. Of course, Zootopia is much better executed (not necessarily meaning Detective Chinatown is not good, just not as good as Zootopia) due to much longer production and much higher budget, being an animated film and ... the top of the top (Hollywood is the top of the world's film industry; Disney is the top of Hollywood).
