druv10
What a piss poor number for Hobbit. I still won't call it a flop but this is beyond disappointing now. At least LOP had a great hold so journey towards 100M still continues.
Sims
9.5-10M?!?! That's absolutely horrendous. I had one of the lowest predictions and I'm still shocked at how poorly it's doing.
druv10
Hobbit's proving cinemascore means nothing. For a movie to have "A" score and have this absymal legs proves that WOM is mixed to poor not great that the score's projecting.
fishstick
While I`d love TH to fall short of my beloved FOTR, this is the Saturday that could turn things around. So before you pronounce doom and gloom (that I admit would love to remain true) wait for today. All LOTR had insane recovery on Saturday. Of course, if TH is deviating from LOTR pattern is actually behaving like a different movie/franchise, Saturday could not end impressive. But I think everyone should hold their horses. I don't think so. Edited December 22, 2012 by Elessar

WOM seems good. The better question is :do people (especially female audiences) want to see dwarves walking for nearly three hours in Middle Earth that much ?Tolkien and LOTR fans : Yes.General audiences : not so much. I don't think so.True, I'm just fed up of it's performance so far. Midnights have been the best numbers, unfortunately.Other movies didn't have great increases either so it might rebound rest of the weekend but I'm not holding my breath. druv10
FOTR looked more exciting.I think 3D/HFR is a hindrance right now. I've seen it 2 times in 2D and once in regular 3D. I'm not bothering with HFR. Edited December 22, 2012 by druv10

druv10
They need to rethink their marketing strategy for the next two films.Smaug should be front and center of that strategy. Let's leave the Dwarfs out of it or at least outside the spotlight.
