Can someone explain to me why Hobbit number is disappointing? I looked at the same date for the 3 LotR-films and thought 11mil would be really good.

Right? It's like they are box office noobs. Friday should be over $10m and thus equal last Friday`s gross. It's doing fine unless you hoped for a weekend increase.
