Dementeleus
@LexG_III Sasha Stone entering that ever-rational phase of Oscar time where she's calling for the execution of anyone who doesn't love 12 Yrs a Slave 10/15/13 3:21 PM @LexG_III Some of you guys know Sasha Stone irl. Like does she just walk into CVSs and 7-11s terrorizing everybody about the Oscar race? 10/15/13 3:22 PM
RichWS
I unfollowed her last season for a good amount of time. She was UNBEARABLE.
The Futurist
People still care about this woman ? She s cuckoo. And not in a funny way. Edited October 15, 2013 by The Futurist
Dementeleus
I unfollowed her last season for a good amount of time. She was UNBEARABLE. Yes, this. The final straw for me was arguing story specifics (re: torture) about ZERO DARK THIRTY when the goddamn movie hadn't even opened yet. mahnamahna
*cough* Nope *cough* Amen!! I despise that the Weinsteins are allowed to buy off voters and hawk mediocre garbage for Oscar nods when crowd pleasers like This is the End and The Conjuring aren't even going to come close to BP (TitE will probably get an Original Screenplay nod but not much else)

Cus this looks like a distant alternative reality to me. OS is so crowded this year.
stripe
Updated Pole Position (very huge buzz, strong reviews) 12 years a slave - also, the clear frontrunner. Gravity - also, the crowd pleaser & the technical gem spot Philomena - also, the emotional drama and Weinstein's bigest contender Captain Phillips - also, Hanks comeback & thrilling emotional true heroism Rush - the weakest of these five contender. But very strong reviews. Plus, it's Howard. Second line (good prebuzz) Nebraska (starting to generate buzz, but it's too early) American Hustler (the hype for this is strong, but can AH survive it?) Mr Banks (never bet against an inner Hollywood story, and early buzz seems solid) Llewyn Davies (never bet against the Coens. Also very good prebuzz, but will this be appealing to GA?) All is lost (solid reception at Cannes, Redford's comeback, but still needs to pick up the buzz) Third line (solid points, but maybe seen as a screenplay or actors vehicle) Her (screenplay?) August (the buzz at tiff is there are solid perfs, but the film is not that strong. Needs BO to be in the conversation) The Butler (sup actress) Dallas Buyers Club (actor, sup actor) Blue Jasmine (actress) Might surprise (longshots or unseen) Monuments Men Prisoners Walter Mitty The counselor Labor Day Updated Pole Position (very huge buzz, strong reviews) 12 years a slave - still, the clear frontrunner Gravity - the crowd pleaser & the technical gem spot Philomena - the emotional drama and Weinstein's biggest contender Captain Phillips - Hanks comeback, true heroism, big success & emotional finale Her - raves after being showed, plus Jonze increasing prestige & Phoenix buzz Second line (very good chances) Nebraska (great buzz, but it's too early, increasing hype) American Hustler (the hype for this is strong, but it has yet to be widely shown) Mr Banks (never bet against an inner Hollywood story, and early buzz seems solid) Llewyn Davies (never bet against the Coens. stripe
I would move RUSH down into "might surprise".I was tempted to do so, but since AMPAS love Howard, i'll be cautious with Rush
Dementeleus
I was tempted to do so, but since AMPAS love Howard, i'll be cautious with Rush I don't think they particularly love him. He's been awarded, but it's not the same thing. In a weak year, sure... but so far it really doesn't seem like it's a weak year.
