Ball Lightning
Saw this today at the preview screening in Melbourne. Absolutely gorgeous. Story was not as strong as pixar often is, but it is definitely in the same tier (for me) as Ratatouille, A Bugs Life and Monsters Inc. Just didn't have that special thing that Up and Toy Story had, though in most part that is probably due to the mother-daughter relationship which didn't connect with me as much as it would if I was a girl 9/10 for me. Definitely will have normal pixar legs.

whoot
If it's in the same tier as Ratatouille then that must mean this is going to be the GREATEST. MOVIE. EVAR.

JackO
I'm glad the people who have seen it already are giving it the thumbs up. Got screening passes for the 20th. A lot more nervous thrn I was a week or two ago.
whoot
70% on RT now. Uh oh.
TLK
64% on RT right now. 1/2 from the trade mags. Variety has it fresh while THR has it rotten.
iceroll
70% on RT now. Uh oh. 64 I'm getting scared. RT scores almost always drop so if it's 64% now it might end up rotten... 2 rotten Pixar films in a row is really, really bad.

Still going to see it when it opens here in August. Edited June 15, 2012 by CJohn

CJohn
Cars 2 is not nearly as bad as the reviews say it is. I believe the same is happening here.
whoot
Wow didn't expect it to be that low. Where do we start the "Brave WWW on RT" thread?
iceroll
Cars 2 is not nearly as bad as the reviews say it is. I believe the same is happening here. Most reviews indicate it's "not bad" or "okay". That's not exactly what people go into Pixar movies expecting. If it's "only decent" then WOM will be pretty bad. That's the downside of having such an acclaimed brand. TLK
I think some people are saying that while the animation quality is great, it gets very dark with 3D and there are a lot of night sequences. PIXAR can get away with a lot of things but they can't get away with a less than stellar visuals if the reports are correct.
