  1. MI4 - 10amThere was maybe a dozen or so people in the theater. Trailers:The AvengersGhost Rider 2Safe HouseWrath of the TitansI think that was all. Not much reaction from any of them. My wife did say she wants to see the Ghost Rider sequel. She likes Nicolas Cage :)The movie:I really liked it. I thought it was better than the last two entries about on par with the first. I liked that the team was new and hadn't actually worked together in the field before. It meant that they weren't totally in sync with each other and that there was the possibility of things not going so smoothly all the time. I hope they keep this particular team together for at least another movie. Everyone did a good job in their roles. I liked Simon Pegg. He did a good job bringing some humor into certain situations. Renner was good as well, but his character didn't get interesting until a little later after he tells them why he bacame an analyst. Paula Patten is simply beautiful and she kicks ass!! . And, of coarse, Cruise does another solid job as Hunt; as he's done in all the previous entries in this series. The action sequences were all very well done. I especially liked the whole section of the movie in Dubai. When he goes outside the hotel I almost couldn't look, LOL. I have a thing about hights. Still, it was a pretty cool scene. The chase through the sand storm was good as well. A-
  2. Like others have said, it's not the way they're performing it's the amount that they started from. Starting today they should start performing better; but probably not enough to make their final grosses respectable. MI4 is the clear winner this season.
  3. Glad to see MI4 doing well. I've always liked TC even when he acting all crazy in his personall life. I enjoy the mans movies. Not sure what to think of DT. I suppose it's doing good for the type of movie it is but it was definitely a little over hyped I think. I'm interested in seeing it but I can wait till it hits video. Nice increase for SH2. I hope it plays well through the holidays. Don't really care about anything else to be honest.
  4. Nice start for MI4. Looking forward to seeing it. Decent for Tattoo, I guess?Not so much for Tin Tin.
  5. Got Rambo 1,2 and 3 from Target for $5 each. Haven't bought much else recently. Waiting until after Christmas. I usually get a few Best Buy gift cards from some of my family members. I want to get Captain America, Cowboys and Aliens, DH2 and Rise of the Apes.
  6. I voted B in the poll but I would actually give a B+. I liked it better than the first one. RDJ does a great job, again, of playing this character and Law pretty much keeps right up with him. They're banter together was even better than before. I also liked that Holmes got hurt physically in this one much more so than he did in the first. The sequence when they're running from the factory was simply awesome. The final scene between Holmes and Moriarity was great as well. I loved how they could both see what the outcome of the fight would be if they went head to head against each other. The very last scene of the movie was brilliant. I truly hope it does well enough for the studio to allow them to make another one.
  7. I hope some good WOM spreads on SH2. Just got back from seeing it and I thought it was great. It was better than the first. The sequence where they're running thought the woods was fantastic. I loved the way it was shot. The audience seemed to be into it and they laughed in all the right spots.
  8. That's kind of mediocre for SH2. I expected it to at least get close to the first's OW. Nice start for MI4, though the number could be skewed a little thanks to the TDKR prolog in front of it.
  9. I've bought enough DVDs over the years that I don't feel I have to replace all of them -- but for my favorites, I absolutely re-buy the Blu-Ray versions.Same here. I'm always checking out the budget sections and sales that my local Best Buy and Target have to see what I can get for cheap on BR to replace certain movies in my DVD collection. Obviously, I won't replace them all but there are definitely certain ones I want on BR. Recently I got Rambo 1-3 for $5 a piece at Target and Alien for $14.99.
  10. I buy all my Blu-rays from Best Buy either from there budget section, when they have massive sales or if it's a new movie the first week out they sell at reduced prices. Just picked up the first 3 Rambo movies for $5 a piece. I especially like the BR/DVD/Digital copy combo packs that pretty much every new release has now. Why not purchase that for $22.99 or in some cases less, when it just a few dollars more than the single DVD or BR version? Buying it that way gives me options when it comes to watching my movies now. BR for my living room and my sons room. DVD for my bedroom and digital copy for our laptop.
  11. Cameron is an absolute genius filmmaker to me. He hasn't made a movie that I haven't enjoyed. Some of them I even love. I've yet to be dissapointed by the guy so I'll be highly anticipating Avatar 2/3 and Battle Angel; if he ever gets around to it.
  12. 1.X-Men:First Class 2.Fast Five 3.DH2 4.Horrible Bosses 5.TF:Dark of the Moon 6.Planet of the Apes 7.Super 8 8.Battle LA 9.Thor 10.Source Code
  13. Fairly boring weekend. Looking forward to seeing what SH and Alvin can do. Sucks for the Muppets. I guess nastalga can only carry you so far. I might actually try and see it next weekend. Hugo looks like it could have a nice run
  14. I don't know about all schools around here, but the High school my wife works for is off all this week. My wife saw it yesterday and thought it was good. She's not a big Twilight fan but she enjoys the movies. In fact, she's never even read any of the books.
  15. Very nice start for BD1. I think it manages to go a little over 300m in the end. I'm more interested in seeing if BD2 manages an increase over this one just as DH2 increased( all be it, significantly) over DH1.
  16. It's my favorite movie ever as well. If given the choice I would watch ESB over any other movie. TPM - B-AOTC - C+ROTS - B+ANH - AESB - A++ :)ROTJ - B+
  17. Red. I love the way it looks, especially in the darker environments.
  18. Yea, but not by the amounts that have been mentioned in this thread. It dropped of by just under 100m; and that's from ANH's total gross from its initial release and all the re-expansions re-releases it had before Empire came out. Without the additional releases that ANH had, their grosses would have been very close to each other.
  19. I don't think it does less than 600. We're talking about a rather significant drop off from the first when people are saying it could barely cross 500m. The movie would have to be pretty bad quality wise to see that massive of a drop. I do think it will drop from the first but I think it will manage to gross somewhere around 650m, give or take a few mill.
