  1. It'll probably be very limited. Plus if it's live it might be easier to just squeeze in one showing
  2. Maybe because I've never super loved the first movie (I prefer the musicals version of the story) but this didn't do much for me.
  3. The reception to X-Men 97 shows that people are really, really excited for good X-Men stuff again.
  4. Second trailer not as good as the first. Think it actually showed a little too much
  5. Like you don't need absurdly complex politics but it's probably a good idea to at least have a take. Even the Robocop remake made a try at commentary about drone warfare
  6. Not the worst plan honestly. Though the fact that the synopsis says on Earth makes me think it's a prequel about their time on earth
  7. Ooh this definitely looks promising. Less polished than say Covenant (in a good way)
  8. Yep. They overcorrected but they went way too far away from the basic premise
  9. Going kind of dramatic made more sense for the first, since it was going for a Stranger Things vibe, but...this one seems less focused on the kids, at least in the marketing, so why do they keep such a serious tone with all these comedy heavyweights?
  10. I don't think every movie needs to take a specific political stance but in a movie about a civil war caused by politics it's kind of inherently necessary. Even the Purge movies know this.
  11. True, but with a cast this stacked with comedians it should not be hard to make a decent comedy out of it. A good Ghostbusters sequel is possible but they just always double down on the wrong things
  12. The decision to stop marketing Ghostbusters as comedies was a terrible idea. It kinda worked for Afterlife. This new one being treated as like a big blockbuster was a bad call.
  13. I'm gonna need at least five seasons of X-Men 97. What an insanely strong start.
  14. It definitely sounds like Igers getting all the big guns lined up for the shareholder meeting.
  15. It's be great timing if somewhere in that stretch they release news on Spider-Man 4
  16. You think the star is gonna run an obvious AstroTurf scheme to sell more tickets to make it seem more culturally relevant than it is
  17. Dune is a bit more heady than the average sci fi blockbuster. It's already over performing as is so I can't really see why anyone would be disappointed unless they were convinced thisd be Oppenheimer
  18. I'm not saying Barbie and Oppenheimers success doesn't help but I think the reason trackings good is simple: it looks fun and people want to see it
  19. I don't think that's gonna run through the box office the way Deadpool will. But the back half of the summer does not have much competition
  20. I really don't. I don't think the Barbenheimer thing extends that far outside each of those movies. It just looks like a real fun movie
  21. In a new interview Winderbaum confirmed that the reason for the Disney+ delays was that when Disney+ first launched there was a big push across the company to make as much stuff for it as fast as possible, and now under Iger (he didn't say because Iger but...we all know it's Iger) the new rule is to space out the releases more. Also confirmed X-Men 97 is already working on Season 3
  22. Winderbaum on Demayo: "I can't talk about the details," Winderbaum tells EW in an interview, "but I can say that Beau had real respect and passion for these characters and wrote what I think are excellent scripts that really the rest of the team were able to draw inspiration from [to] build this amazing show that's on screen. Asked if he would categorize the parting of ways as a firing, he says, "I don't. 'We parted ways' is the best way I could say." https://ew.com/x-men-97-beau-demayo-firing-marvel-animation-responds-8609643 This does sound a lot more diplomatic than if he were about to face, say, criminal allegations or something. sounds more like he was just difficult to work with.
