  1. Emma has gone for an interesting look, not every actress could pull this off.
  2. Nah, it should have been JLaw and Pratt. LLL would have opened on 3000+ screens rather than a platform release.
  3. The theater nearest me is adding LLL, including on a VIP 19+ screen (you have to be over 19 as they serve food and alcohol right to your seat, which are extra large comfy recliners and there are only 114 seats because the seats are so large). I'm really tempted to splurge and see a VIP showing, even though it's nearly double the price of a regular showing.
  4. I really do love this movie. I wasn't planning on seeing it again so soon, but I was downtown today and after a bit of shopping and lunch I couldn't think of anything better to do and there's no other movie out right now I'm interested in seeing again. 12:30 show was almost 95% full, there were a few seats left in the first 3 rows and some scattered singles. As I was leaving I noticed the 3:45 show was already sold out, nothing else on the board was listed as SO or even Low Seats. I could watch Emma and Ryan together all day, and since Crazy, Stupid, Love. is on TV tonight I probably will. I just love the whole scene between them when they get to Jacob's house right up until Jacob passes out and Hannah kisses him and snuggles up to him for the night.
  5. The Neon Demon $1.33m. It's also the weirdest movie I saw all year. Runner up would be Hardcore Henry $9.25m.
  6. There is definitely a segment of the audience that was bummed by the ending, at the last showing I saw 2 girls behind me both shouted "no !" at the end. Personally, I thought it was fitting, but I can see how...
  7. Part One created a fan base and it only got bigger once it hit Blue Ray/DVD, Netflix etc. It did 14.4m OW/43m domestic, the 20m/45m in that long range estimate seems pretty low (only increasing 2m from the first?) for a movie that garnered a rabid fanbase.
  8. Great holds for Moana (-8%) and LLL (-5%) Every day I get just a little bit annoyed that LLL isn't already in full wide release, it's putting up almost the same numbers as movies that opened later and have 3x the theaters (Fences) or 4x the theaters (WH and AC).
  9. LLL will either end up number one or number two of the year, it's pretty close between LLL and Deadpool for me. I'll know for sure after I see LLL a few more times.
  10. 2nd viewing in 2 days and it was even better the 2nd time. This is such a fun movie to see in a packed house, I can see myself seeing it several more times while it's still hot and packing the theaters (especially with no "must see" movies coming out the next few weeks)
  11. Increasing theaters 3.7x on one of the busiest days of the year coming off a depressed x-mas eve should make for more than 3x the Sat. number I would think.
  12. It did 1.1 on x-mas eve in 200 theaters, 3m x-mas day in 731 theaters would be... disappointing.
  13. This was as good as I hoped it would be. It was a sold out show on this theaters 3rd largest auditorium (the 2 biggest ones were showing Rogue one in AVX 3D). This was probably the 2nd oldest crowd I've ever seen at the movies, at least 40% seniors, including a group of 16 who went together (they were chatting among themselves). Only opening day for The Help had a larger seniors audience at close to 90%. This bodes well for legs, this is by far the toughest audience to get to go out to the theater. I was seriously considering watching it again, but by the time the first show ended it was sold out for the rest of the night, except for the 10:30 show which was flashing "low seats", and this was at 2:50. I give it a rare 10/10.
  14. I have my ticket, just 4 1/2 hours until it starts. Loving that bizzarre x-mas eve increase for LLL
