  1. I have a feeling Dory is going to be as much of a weekday warrior as Toy Story 3. That film played incredibly over the weekdays pretty much all summer, at the cost of some lower Friday/Saturday increases. I remember after TS3 had its first week it was looking to do $65-70 million if you were going off of other animated films but it's increases were a bit muted.
  2. That is pretty crazy. Usually the opening week Tuesday increases aren't as big for tentpoles.
  3. I guess we'll see. $20 million seems too high for a normal Monday even coming off of a "should-be" $40 million Sunday.
  4. Sorry to be a downer about this but that Monday number, while fantastic, doesn't really dictate much about the weekend. Monday is inflated thanks to a deflated Sunday. It'll course correct itself over the week. Not trying to sound negative, I think that's a wonderful hold.
  5. $45-47M? Definitely looking to follow TS3. (Flat day business into Saturday, probably a low-teens drop on Sunday). Should come close to $140 million for the weekend.
  6. Not that we should put any stock in numbers until Rth gets here later tonight... $52 $42.8 $37.2 $132 million if it follows TS3.
  7. Thinking Wall-E legs for Dory. Makes sense, it's looking to have a really big opening so it must be a bit frontloaded. I don't know if that's Wall-E legs with a TS3/Minions sized opening or a monster $150M opening. I guess we'll wait to see. We've never had an animated movie open in previews quite like this so either it's really frontloaded or we're store for a crazy weekend.
  8. eh, TS3 was flat Friday to Saturday in terms of day business. It had those $4 million in midnights to boost Friday. This reminds me that I'm still angry TS3 didn't make $500 million. I don't think I'll ever get over that.
  9. I think Star Trek Beyond is going to do around $150 million. Hoping Bourne really blows up, but that's mostly because I'm super hyped for it. It's been a while since Ultimatum though, I don't think it's going to quite top that. Suicide Squad depends on quality. It'll have a solid opening at the least. Not sure about Pets.
  10. Civil War has had a 50%+ drop each weekend. I guess it makes sense, like others have stated the MCU is probably mostly just retaining audiences at this point rather than growing.
  11. Popstar is getting better reviews than I thought. Still, it's hard for me to feel bad for those numbers when I couldn't watch a YouTube video the past month without being forced to watch the same two or three 15-second spots that got outrageously annoying and repetitive.
  12. Michael Bay's love for dogs has always been pretty apparent. That's really cool. Ironically if she has epilepsy she might not want to watch his films.
