  1. The first star trek film grossed 257M. So, they probably figured they're sequel should make perhaps 350M? Generally sequels get a good increase. OS was low, only accounting for 127M, so maybe just 300M OS, thus somewhere around 600-650WW.
  2. Comparing STID and other low key sci-fi films like Elysium or PR is not the same. STID was suppose to be a top contender of the year, and is known name, unlike no names like Elysium and PR. Back in January, I'm sure no one heard of those sci-fi films. It doesn't matter what the other sci-fi films did, because no one cared for them. STID was the one that was talked about, and the one that did infact underperform compared to what it was predicted to make.
  3. Saw that last night. I was also surprised at how cute it was considering the storyline. I thought it was overall a decent funny film, though the first 20 minutes or so felt like it dragged a bit.
  4. Oh I remember seeing trailers for that! I wanted to check that out, it looked good.
  5. I don't know much about the actor Logan or his talents, but I do agree that he (and the rest of them) are in a shit movie. Who the hell was looking forward to that movie? I've heard of no trailers for it until like, days ago when it was posted here. And the trailer looked like crap.
  6. We're The Millers Time: Last night at 7:20pm Crowd: An alright amount, I'd say maybe 40% filled. Trailers: None were that memorable. I think I remember Delivery Man, another film something called Best Man Holiday, Prisoners, and that's all I can remember :/ As for the film, I gave it an 8/10. For more info you can find it under the Review movies section.
  7. Just got back from watching it. I have to say that it wasn't the 'dumb stupid no point' comedy that I thought it was going to be. I mean, there are problems that I had with the film, but since it was a comedy, I was prepared for the somewhat poor plots and the attempts at making it 'scary' at times. I felt the the first 20 minutes or so kind of dragged, I guess since they were setting the story up. But once the family actually comes together (or 'fake' family), then it get funny. In fact, I'll give the film credit, there are some drop dead hilarious moments. Overall, it's a pretty good comedy film, but that's about it. I'd give an 8/10, not funnier than The Heat, but still entertaining.
  8. My sister, my mom and I are planning on seeing this today. This would be three times for my sis, twice for me, and the first time for my mom.
  9. This movie was phenomenal. Just a really well done movie, from the script, the acting, and just everything about it. It was a great story, had action, a few moments of dark humor, scenes that had me moved deeply. Just everything you'd want in a great movie. I'd give this movie a 9.5/10. It's really good.
  10. Yeah, this is getting an F from me. My mom is obsessed with this series, and makes the family watch it. Every movie by this series gets an F for me, they are terrible. Ugh. This movie actually had the chance to be like a D rating since it at least offered a huge fight scene going to take place, but.....oh wait.......it was all fake. Never happened apparently....ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Not only does each movie suck, but they have you watch all 5 of these movies to get to the final showdown, and now that you have finally gotten there.....poof. Nothing happens. GTFOH.
  11. I'd have to say the Alien trailer, back in 79. That trailer just is perfect. I love the music, even the beginning on how quiet it starts out and slowly you hear that creepy music come to life. The pace it just awesome. That trailer can scare anyone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEVY_lonKf4
  12. Thanks! Yeah, that film was really creepy, and not just because of Pinhead and his cenobites (though the wire twins were creepy as hell). I was just creeped out at just how everyone around him slowly but surely were being killed off (though from what I remember it was because he went insane and was in his own hell, right?). Something about that film that I liked, it had a good concept.
  13. Ugh. I so wanna see wolverine, but my friend has really really making me mad! Her first pick to see was the lone failure but then noticed they aren't showing it at our theater anymore (shocker ). Then her second choice is r.I.p.d! Uuugh.
  14. Oh! Just totally hit me. The Resident Evil series totally needs to be redone, but in the right freaking way. Like how the games are. Not the rubbish crap they had us see with a lame shit story.
  15. I've only seen Hellraiser once, a while back ago. I remember it being extremely creepy (that guy in the attic being all bloody...and well....bloody looking lol and his gf or whatever bringing people up just so he could kill them or something like that). I remember liking it, and the one scene that really got me were the cenobites and how creepy they looked, and also the end with the chains coming out from no where and ripping the guy to shreds. I've seen the other Hellraisers, but none of the sequels were that great (which is usually the case for horror films I've noticed). Though I think I remember one with a police officer or detective and I thought that I liked that one, can't remember which one it is....
  16. I'm so glad The Heat is close to 150M.
  17. Damn. Conjuring is making some big money considering it only took 20M to make it.
  18. I remember not liking the Mummy at all. There are I believe two Mummy rides. One in DisneyLand and the other innnnnn Universal I think? One of them....went backwards....and I freaked out. I can't really do any, hahahaha.
  19. But definitely knowing that it was a lot more than 3D, that we were actually moving around the place on a track is pretty amazing. I had no idea. The creators of that ride really did a great job, phenomenal. Makes me appreciate the ride more.
  20. I'm going back this August for like, the 7th.
