  1. Somehow our team got saddled with the two players who just happened to be the ones who didn't bother to submit numbers. 😠
  2. Same reason why Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King needed to be considerably longer then their animated counterparts. Major live-action blockbuster feature films can't be that short anymore. I'm expecting them to fix up some of those supposed "plot elements" from the original, but also thinking there will be a lot of padding, too.
  3. Hugo had great PTA's and WOM though. It simply cost too much money, which is the biggest issue with Scorsese movies nowadays. Silence did poorly yes, but next to King of Comedy, his three lowest grossing narrative features are his religious trilogy. It was always going to be a hard sell.
  4. Most of Scorsese's films have also been by and large successful, even prior to Gangs and DiCaprio, in one category or another. It's not like he was making arthouse fare or something. He's always been a very commercial filmmaker (Taxi Driver was a big movie in its day, New York, New York was not as much of a flop as has been stated etc..), it's just that post the 1990s, his movies tend to be much longer and much more expensive. But he's also proven that his movies are deserving of that runtime, so even though Flower Moon is going to be superlong, I at least trust there's a reason for that, even if I would like to see the return of the intermission. I say that as somebody who sat through screenings of Wolf and The Irishman in one sitting (😅).
  5. Haven't really commented on my thoughts about the academy awards, but I mostly enjoyed it. I even made just released a video, where I gave some rather scattered thoughts about the whole ordeal.

  7. For anyone who finds this weekend dull because of the lack of big major releases, this is a huge plug, but I just started making Youtube videos, and my recent one is me talking about the biggest box office runs of the last decade. FYI, this video took a long time to make because of technical issues, so I can definitely say for sure that the box office has improved somewhat since then.
  8. Hopefully my list isn't too late. 1. The Empire Strikes Back 2. Knights of the Old Republic 3. Andor 4. Star Wars: A New Hope 5. Rebels 6. Lego Star Wars II: The Original Game 7. The Clone Wars (2003) 8. The Last Jedi 9. Star Wars: The Force Awakens 10. The Clone Wars (2008) 11. Tie Fighter 12. The Mandalorian 13. The Rising Storm 14. Star Wars Battlefront II 15. Tales of the Jedi 16. Return of the Jedi 17. Visions 18. Rogue One 19. Solo 20. The Bad Batch 21. Revenge of the Sith 22. Resistance 23. Obi-Wan Kenobi 24. The Phantom Menace 25. The Book of Boba Fett 26. Rise of Skywalker 27. Attack of the Clones 28. Star Wars: Droids 29. Star Wars: The Clone Wars Movie 30. The Holiday Special
  9. Happy New Years everyone, here's to another great year where I barely try to start at first base.
  10. Merry Christmas everyone. Hope you all have had a delightful day.
  11. The Force Awakens, Interstellar / Big Hero 6 - the meltdowns, and it was probably the peak of when I was posting, and Endgame.
  12. Not to mention her movies opened consistently. When people focus on if an actor is draw or not, they seem to talk about the utlimate gross of their movies, when really it's the opening weekend that matters most. Cameron Diaz regularly headlined movies that had 14m + opening weekends, and only one of her wide-released films failed to reach the top five (The Box). That's not bad at all for an actor.
  13. Wishing you the best, it's terrible. I lost my power last Friday, thankfully it was only for a day, however some of my moms friends had their power lost for days, and we wound up letting them use our shower. Definitely not a good thing to experience.
  14. Enjoyed this one just as about as much as the first. Seeing it on the big screen gave me the same sort of feeling in 2009, and it helps that there were a decent amount of people in the cinema too. Also I made a video about the original to go along with the release of the new film. It's mostly about James Cameron's skills as a filmmaker, but also why the film works as well as it does as an experience.
  15. Congrats to @ZeeSoh. I wish I could have made it to the top three, but you do what you do.
  16. We did it boys, and I just posted for the first time in this thread. Feels great to have the old BOT back.
  17. Aargh blagh, I've been beaten. My final stand. Well making it the top four is admirable, but it was close, and it could have been much more. Sayonora and best of luck to the last three. @ZeeSoh @AN9815 @DAJK Thank you @SLAM! too for playing a good game.
  18. Hey everyone, bit of self promoting going on here, but I've been doing some video content on Youtube. I just made a video on theatrical comedy through the lense of the comedy Bros. Please enjoy, lol.
  19. The forum going literally fuzzy earlier Tuesday absolutely screwed me, if not for @Goldenhour36, so thank you. I pray it doesn't happen again, though.
  20. Congrats to @Inceptionzq, and @Toruk Makto XXR. Looks like you guys are really leveling up.
  21. Great celebration and worthy winner @Blankments, even if I realized a day too late, that it was already happening, lol.
