    So they are clearly looking for a big name actress to lead this film. Why? I don’t know. Because the dinosaurs are the selling point. But I guess it’s an easy paycheck at the end of the day.

    It’s a really small family audience but yes.

    She’s a well known actress but she’s never had BO pull. It doesnt help they she’s done mostly indies post-Twilight. When she did franchise fare like Snow White and the Huntsman and Charlie’s Angels, they both underperformed.

    Horror has been on a mediocre run so far this year. I wonder what the first major hit is going to be.

    Alien trailer just dropped. Along with Harold and the Purple Crayon trailer. I liked the way they styled grown up Lydia.

    If you aren’t into Mad Max these trailers won’t change your mind. Looks like more of the same.

    This isn’t a pre sale driven film. We will see what kind of opening it’s going to have the week of release. It’s also probably going to be very walk up heavy and WOM is key.

    They showed up for Poor Things more than Love Lies Bleeding. It made 112m WW which was a surprise considering its a kooky film.

    Wouldn’t The Fall Guy be more walk ups driven rather than pre sales?

    But interestingly they didn’t show a trailer during the ceremony. Which was weird. I saw spots for Inside Out 2, Monkey Man, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and Challengers.

    Looks like Dune is headed towards 250+ and possible more

    They should just make another rom com. We don’t need a sequel to this which will likely cost more and make less. (Going by history)

    Monkey Man could do Beekeeper numbers. Cival War seems like a harder sell so I’m not sure about that. I was originally predicting Challengers might do 20-30m but it has potential to be bigger if it can draw female audiences.

    It’s not just that. We also have Tik Tok, Letterbox, etc just so many more social media apps that get the word out about a film almost instantly.

    I think they mean due to social media it travels faster.

    That would be funny. Trailer Seems more likely to come with Ghostbusters.

    Well in this case I don’t think the cast doing promo would have made a difference.

    They should have left Drive Away Dolls in September if they were just going to dump it.

    Id be alittle surprised if this opened in the mid 20s. Do people really want to see this during an election year? Seems a little too real.

    This Fantastic Four movie will be lucky to make 300m. The last one did only 167m WW. i think 500m is the ceiling.

    They say in Hollywood you are only as good as your last project. So Johnson and Sweeney need to move on quickly to the next one and forget this ever happened. Johnson was probably right to change her agency.

    Jamaicans make up 30% of the black population in Canada. So it makes sense.
