  1. If this is the best movie of the year, then 2016 was a pretty shitty year for movies. It's not bad, but it definitely doesn't deserve the colossal praise it's getting. Also, could they sing any quieter? I could barely make out what they were saying...And yeah the ending didn't work for me either. B-
  2. Sure the movie was alright, but where is the second half? Jk, but seriously that's exactly what the ending felt like, very stupid. Watching this film is making a bad investment with little compensation. C
  3. 1. Beauty and the Beast 2. The LEGO Batman Movie 3. Logan
  4. I second all of this. I don't get what's so special/good about Star Wars (for the modern generation, I'm 20) besides its historical significance as a film. And I also really dislike anime. Watched it all the time as a kid, but I can hardly stand it now.
  5. What are these multipliers referring/relative to?
  6. 1. Beauty and the Beast 2. Coco 3. The Lego Batman Movie 4. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 5. The Lego Ninjago Movie 6. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales 7. Spider-Man: Homecoming 8. Star Wars: Episode VIII 9. A Monster Calls 10. Logan
  7. I avoided watching this film for so long because I thought it was skewed too young. How wrong I was! I'm 20 and I haven't laughed this hard watching a movie since 2013's This Is the End. I mean, people talk about how Minions has adult jokes, but this is one has plenty of them too, except they're ACTUALLY FUNNY here! I'm telling you, this movie is comedy gold. And it even gets a bit touching at the end (and oh so adorable!). I give this an A for being an excellent comedy for all ages. The lesson here is to never, ever underestimate Aardman. Oh and did anyone else start questioning their life choices and consider starting a farm after watching this film?
  8. The Good: Beautiful art Funny Cute characters Short (could be considered a con) The Bad: Weak story Doesn't reprimand theft Ending felt very forced Weak execution of message Overall, I'll give it a B-. Sure, it has problems, but it's pretty, short, for kids, and I enjoyed it for what it is. I won't judge it too harshly. But it's very overrated for sure.

  11. College, man. It makes you forget what matters most in life: ranking animated movies!
  12. Idk how I feel about Inside Out winning. It's a good movie. However, I've seen it three times, and for me it never manages to reach the level of storytelling and emotional depth of other Pixar films like Wall-E, Toy Story 3, Ratatouille, or Up. I guess it won because it has the least haters. I'll just pretend The Lion King won because it would have if my list was included
  13. The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923)
  14. So sad seeing my personal #1 drop so much. And what's up with Toy Story 1 being the highest-ranked of the three? That's the least good one... Anyway here's hoping my #2 Wall-E manages to enter top 3 at least. If I only I noticed this thread in time to vote...
  15. I wonder if they tried to bring Jennifer Yuh from KFP3 to the roundtable. Would have been nice to hear her thoughts on the industry.
  16. South Park is 31st. Toy Story 3 and The Incredibles are somewhere in the top 10 (to be revealed).
  17. 1. Beauty and the Beast 2. Coco 3. The Lego Batman Movie 4. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 5. The Lego Ninjago Movie 6. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales 7. Spider-Man: Homecoming 8. La La Land 9. Star Wars: Episode VIII 10. Sing
  18. Haven't seen it yet, but I swear I knew once Grace Randolph said she loved it that it wont be universally liked lol.
  19. Meanwhile at DW: "Our newest shitty comedy flopped. What should we do?" "Make 5 more shitty comedies?" "GENIUS!"
  20. I don't hate Finding Nemo, but I always thought it was the most overrated Pixar movie. It's just alright. I still like it. I think the only movie I don't like in the top 20 is Grave of the Fireflies deserves its place. So much better.
  21. The only other time a Pixar movie was not nominated for a best animated feature Golden Globe was 2013's Monsters University. Even Cars 2 and the Good Dinosaur both got nominations. This is indeed surprising.
  22. I am mostly shocked over the Finding Dory snub. I guess I completely overlooked Sing. Zucchini is a pleasant surprise though.
  23. Maybe try watching it (Ratatouille) again if you haven't already? I didn't like it the first time I watched it, but after a second watch I realized it's a masterpiece.
