  1. Its demographics breakdown also appears to be solid.@ERCboxoffice: TWILIGHT: BDp2 breakdown - 79% female, 21% male (highest ever for the series), 50% +/- 25, Cinemascore: A
  2. Gitesh Pandya ‏@giteshpandya Source tells me #Twilight #BreakingDawn2 holding up better than BD1 on SAT. May do mid 40s SAT & near $140M wknd.
  3. SLP and AK numbers are a bit weak. I was expecting around $40k 3-day PTA for SLP so I think it is going to need every bit of good WOM that it can get going forward.
  4. 12-13m means that 40 is a lock for Skyfall as it will increase by 40% minimum on Saturday.BD2 will probably do close to 70 million Friday as it has increased with every update so far. 70+38+26 = 134 million which makes sense as everyone from Nikki, THR, Variety and Guru have been mentioning 135 million as the weekend number.
  5. I think Affleck has a good shot. His first two movies were well-liked but he didn't get any credit from the academy, he is being touted as the next Clint Eastwood and he has a huge fan following. Besides, Argo is a very Hollywood insider type of movie with a lot of references that Academy members will get. He has things going for him that other directors don't.
  6. Will not surprise me if it makes over 70. Nikki's first number was 130 based on matinees, her second number (based on east coast evening shows ??) was 135. Based on spizzer's numbers the movie seems to have taken off after 7 PM on the east coast.
  7. It isn't going to make 135 if its Friday is only 60-65. FRIDAY 5:30 PM, 4TH UPDATE: The worldwide total for Breaking Dawn Part 2 is almost $174M already. My sources have now refined their domestic numbers for Breaking Dawn Part 2 – $60M-$65M for today (which includes that $30.4M from Thursday 10 PM and Friday midnight late shows) and $135M for its opening weekend. It’ll be a squeaker whether or not this final Twilight Saga film breaks the franchise record of $138.1M set by Breaking Dawn Part 1.
  8. http://www.hollywood...previous-391638BD2 135Skyfall 40Lincoln 20Edit - It also says 65 million Friday for BD2. How is it going to get to 135 with a 35 million (day only) Friday number?
  9. Exhibitor Relations ‏@ERCboxoffice Int'l audiences have bite! As of yesterday TWILIGHT: BDp2 has grossed $38.8M in 27 territories.
  10. Exhibitor Relations ‏@ERCboxoffice Int'l audiences have bite! As of yesterday TWILIGHT: BDp2 has grossed $38.8M in 27 territories.
  11. Only 35%? So it must be seriously under-performing BD1 and Nikki is right.
  12. I think people should wait for Friday numbers before writing Skyfall's obituary. It made over 5 million on both Thursday and Friday. I think there is a good chance Nikki is either getting the wrong information or she is using wrong multiplier.
  13. $130 million is weak for BD1 but only $31 million for Skyfall and $25 million for Lincoln ? Skyfall and Lincoln numbers appear to be screwy.
  14. FRIDAY 3 PM, 3RD UPDATE: My sources say that Breaking Dawn Part 2 is running behind Part 1 in 4,070 North American theaters as the Twilight Saga ends its phenomenal run. Right now, based on matinee trends, the vampire epic looks like $130 million through Sunday, not quite equal to Part 1‘s $138.1M first weekend tally in U.S./Canada. In 2nd place, Eon Productions/MGM/Sony Pictures’ latest James Bond actioner Skyfall looks down 65% for a $31M second weekend. That brings its North American cume to nearly $160M in just its first 10 days of release. All in worldwide, MGM/Sony expect the pic to make $800M. Also very strong is Steven Spielberg’s Oscar contender Lincoln which expanded its run from 11 venues to 1,775 this second weekend in release; it looks to earn $25M through Sunday near a $26.5M cume.
  15. I'm with spizzer. We won't know anything until we have Friday day only numbers. Midnight numbers have sucked for all movies since Aurora. Even all the Halloween horror movies did poorly at midnight.
  16. I'm pretty sure PA4's 10PM shows were counted with the weekend numbers. I think Sony is the only studio that separates previews out. TDKR counted all the marathons and their inflated ticket prices with the TDKR gross. Studios always fudge numbers like this. Always.
  17. Very good Thursday number for Skyfall $5,186,943 -6.4%
  18. I think all movies are going to take a significant beating on Thursday because of BD2 previews. A lot of theaters aren't even playing any movie other than BD2 after 9 PM.
  19. If a 14 screen theater is showing BD2 on 12 screens at 10 PM then Skyfall and other movies won't be getting many shows after 8-9 PM.
  20. I am seeing a ton of 10 PM shows for BD2 on Thursday so Skyfall's Thursday numbers may be impacted by as much as 15-20%.
  21. Very impressive Saturday number for Skyfall. Hopefully, WIR and Flight also had good increases.
