  1. I got the numbers from Nikki ( 10 PM update). She switched them apparently. It is B- for Campaign and B for TBL now.
  2. ^^^ Yep. Ted/Magic Mike weekend was THE breakout weekend of the summer.
  3. 14 million Friday opening is fine for a Bourne-less Bourne movie. The WOM is going to be a much bigger issue as it appears to be really mediocre.
  4. Wow. 2.7 million Friday will be awful for Total Recall. This will be around 60% weekend drop from an already disappointing opening.
  5. Wasn't Matt Damon extremely unhappy with The Bourne Ultimatum's writer who is now the director of the new movie? I never understood why Universal didn't try to bring Damon back.
  6. Stuart Oldham ‏@s_oldham Cont'd: "The Dark Knight Rises" continues to flex its muscle with $20M weekend; "Hope Springs" No. 4 w/ $12M-$13M.
  7. Nitro Circus dropped 52%. That is quite a bit of frontloading, isn't it >
  8. $45 million seems to be the early consensus but I think it will finish a little bit lower. Stuart Oldham ‏@s_oldham Early Box Office: "The Bourne Legacy" aiming for $45M weekend; meanwhile, "The Campaign" a surprisingly strong runner-up with $28M-$30M
  9. Bill Murray. Problem with Williams is that 90% of his movies are shit and he is one of the reasons why they are shit.
  10. This weekend will determine whether it reaches 450 million. I don't think it is even close to a lock.
  11. Snow White dropped only 8% after losing more than 13% of its theaters. I guess there is no such thing as bad publicity.
  12. Saturday drop was a bit high but the movie is a third sequel so it wasn't extraordinarily bad.

  14. Nice jumps for all the movies. Olympics opening ceremony was always going to hurt the Friday box office. I think TDKR will finish at around 62-63 million now.
  15. I think mid-60s is in play with a 25 million Saturday and a 17.5 million Friday.
  16. All movies had poor Friday jumps so I don't see why everyone is singling out TDKR, which had one the best Friday jumps in the top 10.
  17. All movies were impacted. These are some very ugly holds . You know it has been a bad day when a Step Up movie is the only one not underperforming.
  18. It is the exact same release schedule as TDK and Inception. Shooting screwed it up but there is no way anybody could've taken it into account.
  19. I think Olympics is a one day deal as the rest of the primetime ratings won't be anywhere close to opening ceremony numbers. All movies should have a healthy jump tomorrow.
  20. It doesn't look like she is. LA Times guy basically confirmed what Rth said with his 65% drop tweet.
