  1. I'm not sure how I feel about the part in the spoiler :/
  2. It was a pretty good movie, much better than I expected. The action sequences and special effects were well done, and the pacing was fast. B
  3. To me transformers is like a pop bands single, undeniably catchy, but empty given a relisten or any thought for those movies I just kinda shut off my brain and look at the pretty explosions. I thought of Lucy like the a pop bands attempt to appear deep, still empty, but lacking even the simple joys of the catchy hook.
  4. Lucy-Most people seem to think it was good not great, whereas I think it is pretentious, moronic, dull, and depressing the only F of the year Birdman- I think this film is either rather good or mediocre depending on the day, and the editing is marvelous, but I just never see it as an amazing film X-Men:DoFP- probably the only movie that I can simultaneously give an A to and call overrated
  5. DOTPOTA deserves to win. Making life like real animals even with mocap is extremely hard. Interstellar will win, the academy seems to find space dramas to have good graphics. I actually think that X-men, GOTG, and CA2 had better effects than interstellar
  6. Braves second half is pretty much an escort mission in film form... entertaining for what it is, but still
  7. I am hoping it can have a decent breakout especially if they advertise the Marvel link in China.
  8. I agree, except I'd say Fantastic Four (Much less likely imo than Peanuts or MR2 or HT2) isn't a lock and Cinderella, Magic Mike, and Spongebob are locks
  9. Almost forgot Toy Story 3 is amazing Toy Story is very good but Toy Story 2 is rather mediocre
  10. Thor 2 was a good (well very entertaining) movie BH6 was better than LEGO and HTTYD2 The Wolverine was not a good movie
  11. I think that BH6's slow release is making the WW numbers look worse. There are still many major markets left, and I could see BH6 sneaking into the top 10 with good numbers in China and South Korea
  12. That record is going down. Hopefully 2015 can get a couple $100M January films to get a head start. At least The Wedding Ringer should clear $100M, and maybe another movie or two could surprise.

  14. I think that BH6 has been hurt more by Interstellar than PoM,Night 3, ITW, and Annie combined. That film managed to make BH6 feel like a nonevent even on this forum. There was no buzz, and no media coverage for BH6, and imo that cost it its shot at $250M or more.
  15. My guess is that an agreement with Lucas is the only reason this is getting released
  16. I am financially vested in Disney's success, and I thought GOTG was a much better movie, but I'd still rather have MJpt1 win the year, since GOTG's number is just to low for me to want it to remain the years top number.
  17. I think that the new strategy that Disney is trying may not be the best (for profits) in the short run, but it may help extend this period of success by keeping a style from getting stale.
  18. Merry Christmas Also good numbers for BH6 Is the $1.1M a good midnight number for ITW?
  19. Tangled got 8.5M off of a 1.6M opening. BH6 opened 400k lower, but it had a slightly better second weekend. I could see it getting Tangled numbers easily if those holds continue.
  20. At least Penguins will take the brunt of the blow.
  21. I believe BH6 is doing better than Tangled in South America where it still has a few, albeit smaller than Europe and Asia, markets left to open in. I agree, it should easily beat Tangleds OS.
  22. Apparently there is once again a possibility that the interview will air in theaters. 250 art house theaters are willing to show it http://variety.com/2014/film/news/art-house-theaters-support-for-interview-release-1201385285/
