  1. 46 on Metacritic with 12 reviews. 4 positive, 4 mixed, and 4 negative. (On an entirely separate note, I'd completely forgotten that Age of Extinction ends with the big baddie barfing on Mark Wahlberg until I was looking for a specific Transformers gif that I thought would be fitting for the lifting of the review embargo lol. What a wild film that was looking back on it)
  2. Can't say I'm too awfully surprised. The marketing has felt weirdly muted, at least from my end. Anecdotally, I haven't gotten either of the main trailers in front of any of the films I've seen at my Regal theater these past couple of months. Even for horror films like The Pope's Exorcist or Evil Dead Rise, which you think it would be a no-brainer attachment for, but nah.

  5. Damn, people coming out in droves for Air as they should.

  7. @CayomMagazine Lager Pictures has tapped filmmaking/screenwriting duo Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (A Quiet Place, 65, Haunt) to write and direct a feature film adaptation of the popular Reddit horror series, Search and Rescue Woods, written by Kerry Hammond. Hammond is also on board to co-write the script with Beck/Woods. Additionally, Sam Raimi is attached as a producer, with Academy Award nominee Alden Ehrenreich and Academy Award winners Sasha Lane and Laura Dern currently in talks to star in the project. The original series, published in eight parts on the Reddit subforum r/NoSleep from August to December 2015, follows a young SAR officer working in a national forest who recalls strange stories of their time on the job, from supernatural occurrences and unexplained disappearances to reoccurring encounters with mysterious staircases in the middle of the woods. Previously, a television adaptation based on ideas from the series was included in the third season of the horror anthology series Channel Zero under the title “Butcher’s Block”. However, some fans of the Reddit series were disappointed in how little the adaptation resembled the original story. The horror feature, entitled SAR (short for Search and Rescue), is slated for release sometime in the Summer of Y11. The project joins the likes of Borrasca, Tulpa, Flower Eyes and Needle Teeth, and Little Black Bugs as another big-screen adaptation of a notable Creepypasta from Lager Pictures. Two other Creepypasta adaptations, Penpal and I Dared My Best Friend to Ruin My Life, are both slated for release in Y10.
  8. Can confirm that I was the only one in the theater for my 10:30 pm showing. On the one hand, it was nice having a big theater all to myself, like a little private screening just for me. On the other hand, probably not a great sign for what's in store for the rest of the weekend 😬.
