  1. about time. Not quite sure why I feel excited as I will endeavour to avoid the trailer as best as i can.
  2. one thing I can't quite grasp, how common are those type of double bills in America? they are very common for big event films. Pretty much every cinema in the country here had Infinity War+Endgame double bill on opening night. Same thing goes for Star Wars, lots of MCU sequels, Man of Steel/Batman v Superman, Fast and Furious sequels, jurassic world, deadpool, fantastic beasts, just to name a few in the past couple years.
  3. that's not really his point. Yes it's the first $200m budget film to have black cast, but he's saying it was marketed as some kind of salvation, like a holy grail for black people, as if there'd never been a black focused big movie before or never been black superhero. They clearly succeeded in that marketing.
  4. No, not hard to say. Scott said in a twitter reply to someone that he heard it is 55M budget, Then when he actually wrote in Forbes he stated its 75M. So 75M. Also New York Times says 75M.
  5. for as good as John Wick is doing (at least domestic). I can't help but think it's not gonna be as successful in terms of profit as chapter 2. For JW2, lionsgate doubled the budget, and in return they grossed double the box office. For JW3, they doubled the budget again. But jw3 is quite clearly not doubling the box office of jw2. it's winding down now and worldwide its at $220m. They really should have gotten a China release for chapter 3. Hopefully they get it into China for chapter 4.
  6. A Star Is Born suffered greatly for not being put in musical category. This is a traditional musical too. It will sweep the Globes.
  7. there are distribution and marketing costs with releasing any film. In order for people to go and watch a Pikachu release, they have to know it's playing, so WB has to spend millions of dollars on marketing. Is it going to be worth it, given the film wasn't very successful when it was initially released at the peak of awareness? Last year Deadpool 2 did exactly that and it made $6 million. Consider that AVATAR had a limited re-release 8 months after release, same sort of time frame. That was the biggest film ever and the re-release grossed $10 million. So Pikachu, probably not going to be worth it. Deadpool was only a success because it meant they could have a China release.
  8. It did not decrease 70%. slop2 opened to £3.5m. First one had one preview weekend of £3.6m then weekend of £5.9m. although... worth saying that the first slop was still doing £3.6m in its fourth weekend, compared to the £3.5m opening of flop2. Lmao. As for numbers this weekend you'll need to wait a bit to get official box office numbers. Sadly we dont have the luxury of chart breakdowns at the end of the weekend like other countries do.
  9. lol its just occurred to me. Who on earth would have guessed a year ago that The Meg would outgross Godzilla.
  10. "Things are coming along well. It should start shooting sometime next week" he definitely meant year lol.
  11. F? Fag? Wtf are you talking about that will upset "Woke twitter SJWs" ?
  12. there is no "bad guy", if anything Ford behave worse than Ferrari. the story is essentially: Ford wanted to buy Ferrari. They almost closed the deal then Ferrari pulled out. Ford was angry that they couldn't buy Ferrari so they decided to build a car to beat Ferrari in racing. (ferrari was long time champions year-on-year) thisfilm depicts them building the car and racing it at Le Mans to try to beat Ferrari.
  13. I watched Bodyguard. Wow that was great. Richard Madden is good.
