I know a lot of people are saying Potter was only midnight. But I distinctly remember the theater showing it at 8pm. I do live in Boston, so maybe Boston operates differently. It's sad to see the potter record go though. I was hoping Potter could keep the preview record and Star Wars getting all the rest. Oh, I remember the lines and times of just sitting in any theater since all was playing it. That's slowly fading out. Even for this, there was no lines for me -- I enjoyed you guys posts of lines. I went to a reserved seating theater and people just casually arrived. The disney marketing and hype train is so crazy! Like no other! With them owning ABC, ESPN, the way America vacations, it's like they control every angle. And can fine-tune the marketing like no other. (Cough Spielberg >>> Lucas)

Oh my! I haven't been on here in a while. But I couldn't resist coming back for this event! Haha, I love all the "no star wars discussion here" esque titles. STAR WARS EVERYWHERE! The FORCE is strong! I don't think I could predict the box office for this except for $200m+. The marketing for this things is crazy! It's everywhere. I'm actually planning on listening to the music all day at work in anticipation for tonight's viewing! I'm getting excited but will need to concentrate and get work done today.

I didn't love croods. It was very forgettable to me. It was mediocre all around. I don't it warrants a sequel. -

Can you imagine what it might have felt like for them filming this right after their wedding? Edit -- Also, Angie directing Brad in a fight scene. -

I think the lighting in this simple shot outdoes anything in Frozen. I think it's a lot more noticeable in Big Hero 6 because the stuff you see in Frozen isn't stuff you see everyday in life. -

It's so good though! The lighting in BH6 was awesome! -
It's not uncommon for Pixar films to go through a director change -- Ratatouille, Brave, etc. It's the Pixar process, the braintrust. Trust in it! And really, I love that Pixar trailers don't reveal plot. It use to be that they didn't put in actual material from the films in their early trailers. I get really annoyed when the trailer is basically the entire movie.

I was lukewarm on this, but I'm sold! The visuals were amazing! Geez! Arguably the best trailer put out by Disney in a long time!

I still don't see the hoopla about Ant-Man. I see like Green Lantern performance. -
Most stunningly beautiful Pixar shot? Come on Unkrich, you can't leave us hanging! My guess is either the good dinosaur or finding dory. https://twitter.com/leeunkrich/status/616004962477195265

I would love for IO to finish in first. JW has a bunch of records already, it doesn't need this weekend. Share the wealth. =] What are the records and numbers for movies coming in 1st on their second weekend but not first? -

I'm hoping for IO > JW > Ted2. The Boston scenery distracts me in Ted. I get distracted when I watch movies that film in places I know well . . . anybody else? -
Yeah, I have to agree with the age ranking; 54 films is just hard but I'll try -- ranking in blue. Films I didn't see are not ranked. Golden Age (1937-1942): Ahh, this is hard, these are all FANTASTIC! 1. Fantasia 4. 2. Pinocchio 6. 3. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves 4. Bambi* 5. Dumbo* Anthology Age (1942-1949): Oops, haven't see any of these. Silver Age (1950-1967): 1. Sleeping Beauty -- Loved the art in this one! 2. 2. One Hundred and One Dalmatians 7. 3. The Jungle Book 4. Alice in Wonderland 5. Peter Pan 6. Lady and the Tramp 7. Cinderella -- this is actually one of my least favorite "classic" disney animated film. 8. The Sword in the Stone* Dark Ages (1970-1988): I can't remember any of these well, no wonder it's called the dark ages. 1. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh* 2. The Aristocats* 3. The Fox in the Hound* Renaissance (1989-1999): This era is really defined by its music, especially Mr. Alan Menken (denoted by ^)! 1. Beauty and the Beast^ 1. 2. Aladdin^ 3. 3. The Lion King 5. 4. Hercules^ 10. 5. Mulan 11. 6. The Little Mermaid^ 12. 7. Pocahontas^ 8. Fantasia 2000 9. Tarzan 10. The Hunchback of Notre Dame^* Interval Era (1999-2008): Uhhhhh -- oh boy, this era is super questionable. Let's forget it. 1. Meet the Robinsons 2. Atlantis: The Lost Empire* 3. Bolt 4. Dinosaur* 5. Lilo & Stitch* 6. Treasure Planet* 7. The Emperor's New Groove 8. Brother Bear* 9. Home on the Range* 10. Chicken Little Reform (2009-onward): 1. Tangled^ 8. 2. Frozen 9. 3. The Princess and the Frog 4. Wreck it Ralph 5. Big Hero 6 6. Winnie the Pooh * Ranked low because memory of these films are fuzzy, could be ranked higher on repeat watch.
