  1. That was different time. Folks who watch and relish these fallen films have hardly seen any other action flick from the 90s not named Die Hard or Rambo.
  2. solid choice. Real Steel was good and so was his indie drama This is where I leave you? Moreover, he is producer of such awesome stuff as Arrival and Stranger Things.
  3. Nice! I love Stephen's Journey to the West...awesome slapstick action comedy fantasy. Looking forward to it.
  4. Also that director who directed prequel to The Thing. That's why I am a bit worried for Tomb Raider. I loved the director's movie The Wave, so hoping he survives on his first hollywood movie.
  5. First time director...great actors...beloved source material..studio system...no guarantee it will be any good. If this turns out bad then everyone will say they should have hired a seasoned director. Hopefully it is at least on the level of Constantine.
  6. I recently watched Warcraft and have to say all the orcs/ogre stuff was very well done but the humans were all awful. It pissed me off because there was real potential there.
  7. I hinted this a while ago in the Uncharted thread and I will say this now..there is not much in terms of spectacle or amazing visuals..whatever is in the trailer is what you will get...there is a lot of talky mumbo jumbo shit with adequate acting..but that's all. The studio has no faith in it. This will do Ergaon numbers at best worldwide. The other Fox movie "Why Him?" is going to be a bigger hit.
  8. Oh...Deepika Padukone...what have you gotten into? Embarrassing.
  9. This is THE sci-fi film of the year and possibly the decade. Fuck the other one releasing in December.
  10. Lol...looks like chronicle 2. Same color palette and all..with bigger budget for the fx and suits.
  11. The production budget for mad max was around 1.5 times more than Kingsman and it certainly had a much bigger world wide marketing budget (wb). The expenses on this movie were much higher than Kingsman but did less than it worldwide. I know it didn't release in China, but still should have matched Kingsman total excluding china because it was much heavily hyped.
  12. Mad Max was a boxoffice dissapointment. No excuses should be made for that. It didn't even beat Kingsman worldwide eventhough the marketing, hype/buzz and reviews were much better than that movie. Oh and it was based on an existing property.
  13. Girl powa! Every year we have a suprise R rated women centric boxoffice hit. Glad this was the one. Go Mila!
  14. Watched this few days back and honestly the action scenes in this movie are much weaker than 2014 TMNT. The comedy is like the first one..hit and miss. The finale in this movie was GARBAGE.
  15. I will tell you what...the original magnificent 7 is a remake of Seven Samurais an infinitely superior movie. So I don't consider the 1960 mag7 anything more than a ripoff with cowboys.
  16. Hey! Remember me! I agree Asian films are wayyyyyy better than people give them credit for. I would say chinese comedy+drama movies are really good. Thailand, indonesia and hong kong make great action films. South Korean thrillers, horror, drama, romance are great. Really asian cinema is awesome. Ps:could you pm me a link to Train to Busan?
