The amount of ca$$$h Disney is receiving from all over the world, every single year, is kinda terrifying. Pixar, WDAS, Marvel, remakes of their classics and fucking Lucasfilm. How could the other film companies let that happen?

I honestly thought it would do more than mid-teens in previews, anticipationn seemed super insane, Twilight level high! But on the other side it means, that it probably won't be so front-loaded. Amd that's always a good sign for a movie.

Theatre concentration accompanied with the decrease of accessible cinemas shouldn't be ignored. I have to drive 25km to get to the next cinema now. And there are still people living in more rural parts of the country despite urbanisation. Another factor is definately internet piracy, I'm sure that's a problem in France and the UK, too, but it seems like it causes more troubles here. It looks like everybody torrents, even ignoring the fact that it's wrong and illegal.

We're indeed a strange country sometimes, that's an amazing hold for FSD. It reminds me of Hunger Games. MJ1 and MJ2 dropped nearly everywhere in the world, especially the final installment, except for our country. I wonder why that is? Or look at the Hangover trilogy...

And you have to keep the ER at the time in mind. For example HP1 would have grossed roughly $400M instead of $290M if it were released in the 2nd quarter of 2008. That's also without taking account of inflation and the 3D boost. -

And the unfortunate part in all this is that the film industry can celebrate the 4th best year ever - in terms of revenue.

Compared to RO (3,9M), I expect 5 movies to finish with higher admissions this year: Star Wars8 7,5M / FJG3 6M / DM3 5,5M / BatB 4,5M / Bully 4,0M

STAR WARS-FILM nach 78, 80, 83, 99, 15, der der erfolgreichste Film des Jahres in Deutschland ist Rogue One is the 6th Star Wars movie to top the year end charts in Germany. But tbh, this isn't quiet fair, since no movie from the OT crowned the year in their original release. Only if you take account of all re-releases they are ahead of the game.

I think we can blame the fact that Amy had two eligible roles this year, that's why she wasn't nominated. Something similar happened to Kanye at the 2012 Grammys, when the AOTY undeservingly went to Adele!
