  1. 19 isn't too early. She was talking to HIGH SCHOOL girls.
  2. They were mostly his ideas, but he, Harris, or Singer never said they weren't going to be incorporated.
  3. You sound like a ten year-old.
  4. Except it doesn't make a lick of sense. Re-watch X1 and X2. Yes, Cyclops doesn't get much screen time, but Singer and co. made it clear that the Jean/Logan thing was merely heavy flirtation. Jean chose Scott. So no, Ratner and Mangold weren't just following what was laid out for them. They fucked it up.
  5. There's audio on Youtube of Michael Dougherty (writer on X2) talking about what he and Dan Harris had planned for X3 and what they would've done differently. I keep telling people who hated The Last Stand to look it up because...well, we really missed out. Cyclops was going to be the lead.
  6. Worse than that if you include the 12mil from Wal-mart.
  7. Goodness...how do people like that exist?
  8. Did you read what I wrote? LOL.
  9. The Heat and The Conjuring say hi. They may not be "hard R," but I've only ever seen Saw-level violence turn people off, and I highly doubt Elysium will offer up anything of that sort.
  10. Eh. Iron Man 3 is officially the best comic-book film this summer in my opinion. And I didn't think I would say that after I saw Iron Man 3.
  11. It's almost guaranteed to drop from Saturday, so 60mil is looking unlikely.
  12. First Class was a lot better than The Wolverine. No moment in the movie was as powerful as Shaw's death, the submarine lift, or Xavier being shot.
  13. No. Origins is totally in GL and B&R territory. The Last Stand? Slightly better than that category, but not by much.
  14. I don't this having more than 2.6x. It's not a bad movie, but like Pacific Rim it's not all that memorable either, maybe even less so than that movie. Has its moments, but overall a mixed bag.
  15. The effects, stars, and premise don't need a popular book for the movie to do well.
  16. I understand that, but even with bad legs it'd be difficult for it to miss that mark. Plus, it's been obvious since Sunday that this would have at least slightly better legs than the average horror flick.
  17. Confused as to why some here are still using words like "likely" and "should" when referring to The Conjuring's chances of crossing 100mil. I considered it locked after the big opening weekend. It could suffer 50% drops every weekend from here on out and it'd still clear it with ease.
  18. Gravity. Although I'm not sure it qualifies as sci-fi.
  19. Star Trek is still a hit. Oblivion suffered due to IM3, Cruise's still-fading star, and mediocre quality. Pacific Rim...what Gopher said. And After Earth had poor marketing and poor quality to contend with. There's still Elysium which could break out.
  20. People I trust, including my own two eyes, have seen and experienced supernatural occurrences. I can imagine why people think it's ridiculous, but the truth is the world is a lot weirder than we think.
  21. I honestly don't understand most of the complaints with Prometheus. The only thing I had a problem with was the black goo and its inconsistent effects.
  22. Depends on how the studios look at it. Because on the other hand you have an adaptation like The Lone Ranger which is an even bigger flop. Also, while they are original in the sense that they're both non-sequels, Pacific Rim and White House Down are derivative of other movies (WHD especially, for obvious reasons). I guess my point is that...we'll just have to hope that studios, which are already risk-averse as it is, don't take these performances to mean "sequels, and only sequels." After all, Now You See Me, This is the End, and The Conjuring are original.
  23. This. The problem is, this forum is full of people who haven't seen his good performances.
  24. Like who? If you're a horror fan and you didn't like The Conjuring...I don't even know what to say. Wan did everything right with the movie.
