  1. Yep, my follow up viewing was sold out. Looks like good WOM has kicked in for certain.
  2. Isn't that what he looks like all the time?
  3. I would have given this one of the easiest A's I've ever given anything were it not for that stupid "romance"'. So a B it is.
  4. I didn't know MNS was involved in this at all until I read this thread. Funny thing is, there was a Inside Look featurette about AE that ran in front of Oz and IM3, it interviewed another Smith family member who served as producer, but not once did it even allude to Shyalaman.
  5. I don't know whether I should scream in agony or kick you in the shin.
  6. I don't think AE's poor showing thus far is as much a reflection of Will's star power as it is a rejection of Jaden in this particular role. The GA has a track record of being very finicky about how kids are portrayed in TV and movies and I just don't think they're ready to embrace an adolescent action hero; and I doubt they ever will be.
  7. Well, that's interesting. I'm still very much a novice at this whole box office intake thing. Why would MOS having a 2.5 multiplier be horrid?
  8. Except that AE seems to be more focused on his son, and I don't think he's a factor at all.
  9. Fish, I have to say, that I find your lucid posts much more enjoyable than your...your...typical posts. I know my opinion on the matter is worth very little, if anything, but I wanted it said.
  10. Yes, decades of ridicule. Prior to the 2009 movie, the ST franchise had been painted into a really strange corner thanks to its own fans base. Trekkers and Trekkies built an image of themselves, and thus the franchise, so that for years non-fans considered anything Star Trek as nerdy, geeky and wholly unrelatable. And the overly hostile response of the more hardcore members to the 2009 movie didn't help their cause.
  11. TDK had "too many notes". And unlike it's historical intent, in this case that statement is apropos.
  12. I'm black and older and female, and I don't understand the appeal of the Madea movies. I saw about 30 minutes of one of them - I think it was the first one - and deemed it loud, obnoxious and for the most part, unfunny. I have no intention of seeing Temptation, but it's not the type of movie I would see anyway. With all of that being said, and as an aside, I became a TP believer after viewing his cameo in ST09. Up until then, I thought he was a one-trick pony.
  13. I just don't see OZ opening to anything less than 50M. It's got a chick-flick vibe that should make it a date night movie. (Not saying that it is chick-flick, but that it's something a lot of women in the GA will want to see).
