  1. Not to mention the difference between Spring break and Summer. I think Deadline reported 80% of K-12 are out today? That's a lot more than back in March
  2. I believe Deadline reported 50% of K-12 was off inn monday, will be 85% next Monday. So more off than spring break, but not a super crazy difference
  3. That, as well as the fact that it didn't get the same amount of volume showtime wise as other big releases like Guardians/SS. So it pushed a lot of the potential ticket buyers towards Sunday
  4. It might lose some, but not every drive in has the GOTG/Pirates pairing. My rule of thumb is 100k for every 10 mil for the opener, so it wouldn't really account for the difference. Not to mention drive ins rarely operate on Sundays so it's not dropping from an "inflated" total
  5. Obviously the Hangover sequels were that, sequels, but this preview number is much lower than either of those films
  6. You're right that it will be largely walkup based, but I think we're at the point as a culture that a 30 mil ish opening would have shown up in some capacity by now. Especially since it's opening a day earlier than Pirates Edit: err what Wrath said
  7. Damn I guess my Latin Lover estimate didnt save. Thats disappointing :/
  8. I'm surprised it's not on here. Definitely will make more than Unforgettable and Born in China this week
  9. Not uncommon for these films to have ridiculous Sunday holds. Instructions not included comes to mind, although that was also benefited by a holiday
  10. Everything is coming up on estimates so far; looks like yesterday was a good day. Congrats on the win!
  11. Distributor is Great India Films and from what I see, this is their first shot. They probably flubbed it
  12. Even if it was double featured with Life, Life did not make nearly enough money to see Passengers increase by this much. Some major fudging going on here
  13. Tuesday increases were crazy for sure. Large part has to be some spillover effect from Beast; there's only so many showings from 5-10 pm. People probably went to something else if it was sold out
  14. 45% if schools were off that day. If we want to be technical, you're right, but not by much http://deadline.com/2017/03/beauty-and-the-beast-second-bests-march-monday-box-office-batman-v-superman-1202047652/
  15. Drive in effect is pretty cool when the new film coming out is big enough. Not a lot of drive ins are. Open this week though. Usually not until May. This is the best example I've seen of the effect, see if you can guess the film http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=weekend&id=johncarterofmars.htm
  16. I think deadline did a breakdown of it. More people are off this week than last, and this will be the most people off until the week of Good Friday
  17. Yeah for me if the Wednesday is within 10-12% of the Monday, you're in a good spot. Get Out beat that
  18. Yeah, as soon as Luke ignites his green lightsaber in a trailer, all bets are off. RIP Carrie fisher
