  1. Well, after "thinking about it," I've determined that your stance is pretty stupid.
  2. I find it odd that people find Kingo not being in the final battle odd. His motivations were explained multiple times!
  3. Let's see. A nostalgia-heavy movie could be pretty presale-heavy. How welcoming would this be to Ghostbuster-indifferent audiences?
  4. One of the Homecoming posters I really liked. I don't think it was the official one that got the most promotion though, that one looked kinda ugly. It was one of Spider-Man in a yellow jacket lying down by a river.
  5. Yeah, I read them. Still don't get it. It's not that I don't understand what they wrote, it's that I can't square it with what I watched.
  6. Could be, my desire for a theatrical sequel is basically because I enjoyed the hell out of watching those visuals on a big screen, and I do think the sequel would be a more straightforward with a lot of the setup out of the way.
  7. Idk about that. If a theatrical sequel is made (I very much hope so but entirely possible the continuation is on D+) there will be some hesitation from audiences even if the film gets glowing reviews.
  8. But HC -> FFH growth in Mexico vs US was linear, even if that isn't true for all overseas (for example China alone played a big part in that OS growth for FFH).
  9. It was abundantly clear in the movie that Phastos did not cause Hiroshima. The person who tweeted this clearly has some kind of agenda. Anyway, if you're not interested in watching the movie, why even bother posting hyperbolically dishonest tweets about it?
  10. He mind-controlled both sides and took them to the Amazon. Then he was going to mind-control all of humanity to stop all conflicts, but realized it was pointless since it would just be his will and not theirs. So then he just settled with the people that he had previously mind-controlled (which was a mix of both) and (implied) just used the mind-control to help them fight against threats. As far as Phastos, I don't think it's on the movie that people are blatantly lying about his role online.
  11. Since posting in the spoilers thread, I assume you are ok with plot details: this is a ridiculous misrepresentation. Phastos did not "do Hiroshima," he helped humans technologically advance earlier in history and then after the bombing of Hiroshima regretted that the advancement he had spurred on caused so much destruction. And Druig does not "spend his days" mind controlling people, he mind controls when there is some sort of threat (so coordinating them to fight) or to stop them from fighting and killing each other.
  12. I am optimistic on Ghostbusters after the way PS started, but haven't looked into it too closely. Anyway judging from the reviews I think it will be a crowdpleaser as @EmpireCity has indicated. Big top critic/regular critic split.
  13. Bond had Columbus to be fair and looking at Spectre, it's Sat increase was well below Doctor Strange for example. So you would expect an MCU movie to have a bigger bump with other things being equal
  14. I wouldn't say no one. I loved the visuals, world, some of the story elements, several of the characters. I don't think I am the only one there, and I don't think that particular issue is at play here, more that overall reception is just very low even if those who did like it can find things that they loved.
  15. Could be also an issue of online ratings vs general audience. Eternals has a 6.9 on imdb, which has been increasing after the initial review bombing. Normally you don't see blockbuster movies with that high an imdb getting a B Cinemascore, so I would definitely say there's a disconnect between people who rate movies online and audiences at large.
  16. That, I can't truly speak to, bc the movie was the opposite of boring for me, but I suspect finding the structure offputting and finding the movie boring have some relationship to each other. Difference with Venom movies is the franchise isn't super plot-driven anyway so it doesn't matter as much what the story is (also the first one had a fairly straightforward story anyway, I would call it many things but not particularly a mess, haven't seen the second though). As far as people remembering this movie, yeah, I have been making this point. If NWH is a well-received smash nobody will particularly care that Eternals had bad reception. However, if NWH disappoints, Eternals disappointing will kinda pile onto that.
  17. Eh...among the hardcore MCU fans it definitely has found some love, but GA responses in the US are really bad. Worse than Thor 2 or Iron Man 2 for sure.
  18. Charlie probably would have a better sense, but given the ratios for other MCU films this year, your numbers seem about right. I could see NWH having a higher international percentage as MCU origin movies seem to overperform domestically.
