I would be surprised if it missed 75, but not shocked. Makes sense that they would project it there. -

Thursday: Showtimes: 2595 (+457) Seats Sold: 58752/378144 (+7558) $ Sales: 801365 (+26081) So first thing is that the showcount burst was not very big, just like @TwoMisfits saw. But it still managed a healthy day of sales and has now fully caught up to SC's Thu pace (+7785 per Keyser, I consider this about the same considering we take the runs at different times). If this keeps up I don't see it going below 9.5 and it has a good shot at 10+. Friday: Showtimes: 4788 (+917) Seats Sold: 59834/728729 (+11342) $ Sales: 761836 (+138116) Just like Thu, showcount jump was not huge. However, I like the pace here (SC sold about 10k on its Tuesday). Obviously not where it looked like from day 1 considering how bad last week was, but it has made an impressive recovery. If walkups are decent, should go for 80+. Given that the late day bumps have been strong, I think walkups should be good. Even with bad WOM, there won't be that much time for it to spread. -

It's catching up with SC pace here (SC went 252 to 274 looking back and checking). Hopefully tomorrow it can match since SC had a small bump again. -

Did Eternals have more initial shows than BW and SC in your theaters? In my tracking it was always behind both in showtimes (and way behind BW). -

Is the Eternals pace 24 hours? If so then it's probably not that much behind SC, since your SC pace was for 27.5 hours, and the night hours are the big sellers. -

It'll dominate every format. Though I wouldn't say Venom 2 was particularly PLF heavy? -

Ghostbusters MTC2 Thursday: Showtimes: 2047 Seats Sold: 4456/347807 $ Sales: 63369 Friday: Showtimes: 3141 Seats Sold: 4994/538680 $ Sales: 62537 I like this start quite a bit. Don't have any great comps though. I took Bond day 1 which was around 5111 tickets sold for Thu (not including Wed), but I would expect this to have better walkups...I think? -

Eternals MTC2 Thursday: Showtimes: 2138 (+112) Seats Sold: 51194/46236 (+4958) $ Sales: 702525 (+63581) SC added around 4900 in 23 hours in my check, so Eternals is slightly behind pace but not too bad. It built up enough in early sales (currently has a 12k lead over SC at the same point) that if it can keep sort of matching SC, it'll do 9.5-10 previews. Friday: Showtimes: 3871 (+75) Seats Sold: 48492/638293 (+12172) $ Sales: 623720 (+150402) This is a 2-day pace. Still, I actually am pleased with this. Per @keysersoze123 SC added 6100 on Monday in ~26 hours, so its pacing higher than SC Fri. -
Not much shown, but honestly, more intriguing than I expected (the post-credit setup in Mando S2 looked pretty uninspiring to me). If they lean into the political aspects here, it could be really good (I have been missing the political aspect of Star Wars since TCW ended) though I don't know if that's actually going to happen or if they just were hiding a more action-packed series.

I wouldn't expect Ghostbusters to be particularly strong at MTC2, but we'll see. Overperformers at MTC2 are usually F9/Venom stuff that appeals to diverse audiences, as well as family animated films especially Disney (I remember Frozen 2 was monstrous). Ghostbusters has an older audience and (my guess is) a whiter one. But I'll take the first day tonight. -

Eternals MTC2 Thursday: Showtimes: 2026 Seats Sold: 46236/326085 (+3034) $ Sales: 638644 (+39915) BW was at 70818/470745 at a similar point (+5600 in a day and a half) SC was at 34283/337782 at a similar point (+3000-3500 in the previous day) Obviously it did bump today but not sure it was enough to totally turn things around. Needs a good bump tomorrow. SC sold around 4900 in the next 24 hr. Just Thu for today, will post Fri in the morning. -

Obi-Wan Kenobi | Disney+
Menor the Destroyer replied to CJohn's topic in Streaming, TV Series, & VOD Movies
If everything goes right, it should beat Loki comfortably in the core SW markets (USA/Europe/Aus) though I guess we only have reliable data for the US anyway. My personal opinion on the storytelling advisability of the "rematch" aside, it will be a massive moment for a lot of people. It will blow the show up on a level comparable to Luke in Mando, if not even more, especially if the duel itself is well-staged and appropriately emotional. -

This will be huge among a certain group of SW fans (and I am very much among them), but I do wonder just how much that hype will translate overall. Still, Obi-Wan is a big enough name in SW that this should be the most successful non-Mando series by a mile. And if it isn't, it means some other series probably blew up. That said, one thing I noticed is despite the really positive reaction to Hayden returning online, my dad (who is not a fan of the prequels) immediately said "why?" I wonder if general audiences may react that way. Still, these D+ shows are more for the fans anyway.
