  1. Perhaps I treated Morbius too harshly. Even by Sony standards this looks BAD.
  2. A lot of the issues I'm reading seem to be stuff that's likely fixed by the director's cut, nothing fundamentally flawed that can't be solved.
  3. Depending on how cut down this is from his director's cut, this will either be a Kingdom of Heaven scenario (rotten) OR an entertaining albeit shallow examination of Napoleon's life (60-70%).
  4. Just premiered in LA last night, public screening at the Aero. Judging from Twitter and LB...it's getting strong reception. Looks like Woo is back!
  5. Birdman over The Good The Bad and The Ugly? C'mon Marty smh
  6. It's a mix of Wan's direction (and fluid camera work) mixed with actually good action (a rarity in the genre) that pumps it up.
  7. An absolutely MENTAL collaboration lmao. Goddard writing gives me pause, just let Zahler do it.
  8. https://www.boxofficepro.com/long-range-box-office-forecast-renaissance-a-film-by-beyonce-and-silent-night/ Long range predictions saying $5-10m OW and $13-30m DOM. I def think this is one that'll require strong WOM/reviews to push that opening up beyond just action die hards. And if timed right for Xmas, could do very well on PVOD.
  9. Hahaha, I love Ridley. The New Yorker profile that this quote came from is an excellent read if you get the chance.
  10. Reviews are extremely strong in Japan. Among the highest rated for any Godzilla film.
  11. The Apes franchise is stupidly consistent (Burton remake aside) so I'm very excited for this. Trailer looks really good!
  12. Trailer looks fine, I love Gosling BUT Leitch has also made some of my least favourite blockbusters of the last few years so its a wait and see for me.
  13. Yeah they do this a lot. After Black Adam flopped, they had the trades drop articles about Dwayne Johnson to make him look bad (for serving alcohol at a premiere for his PG-13 films?) after the Snyder Cut fiasco, they had the trades drop articles on how Snyder is some Lex Luthor villain (for being rude to studio execs).
  14. I adore the first Ghostbusters but its a franchise/fanbase that has severely misremembered the original film. 2016 Ghostbusters was quite bad but it was MUCH closer in tone/style to the OG than the other films. Completely irreverent comedy where SNL guys riff on what if bug exterminators but for ghosts.
  15. The Apes franchise is stupidly consistent (Burton aside) so I have hope for this even if I wasn't huge on Maze Runner.
  16. It should've been a telling sign (when Chris Columbus was attached) they had a script everyone liked and then Cawthorn scrapped it...and the big talent all left the project.
