  1. Never change, buddy...never change. 2017 will go down as your most hated year...
  2. Is the Elton John thing even tangentially related to the plot in any kind of organic way? I can't think of a more random pop star to cameo in a 2017 would-be blockbuster than Elton John.
  3. Get ready for the epic box-office wig-snatching once Avatar 2 opens. The king is back and we are just not worthy...
  4. I am happy about Linda's return, but after so many crappy TV and film iterations of this mythos (a dead horse that keeps being beaten), only Cameron directing would make me feel truly excited.
  5. Another option could be...both underperform according to expectations. But that would be a heck of a bore...
  6. How about this? Wonder Woman, Beauty and the Beast, Get Out, and It are all the box office stories of the year? They each had extraordinary runs and they all something unique that most definitely added an element of "WTF? I did not see that gross coming!" to their box office totals...
  7. I see male Jessica Alba is still trying to "stretch" his acting. Awful "acting" in solid films is still awful acting. (now cue the "Well, he is better than Gal Gadot, bitch!" retorts... ) That will show me that my opinion is wrong... )
  8. I was going to say, "Annabelle: Creation has haters?" That's an odd movie to hate on, in my opinion...
  9. Oooh, mother! 's Tuesday #!!! JLawrofsky coming for The Force Awakens ' domestic crowd.
  10. Which one of those was the highest domestic grosser, the only 2017 CBM to become an actual pop culture phenom beyond mere box office performance and the CBM to get the best WOM of the year/multiplier of the year/legs of the year/best legs for a CBM since God Knows When? Logan: 88/226 GOTGV2 -146/389 SM:H -117/330 WW 103/411 Exactly. Not bad for "the worst received CBM of the year"
  11. Yay for kickass horror films kicking ass at the box office!! Please do not disappoint us, The Nun !!!
  12. Man...I hope so. God,I so want this film to be awesome! Honestly, even more than with Aquaman and Justice League, I am dying to see how they translate The New Mutants into cinematic language. I cannot wait to see Wolfsbane and Mirage in particular.
  13. Then you are in the wrong thread... Nah... I know that Cavill is just as monotone as Evans. It's just that the narrative that some MCU fans have concocted around their trinity of Chrises is hilarious ("The Chrises are excellent actors, y'all!"). Nobody who has played a superhero, male or female, to this day deserves any Oscar attention, not in the DCEU or the MCU. Nobody. And sorry, but Evans is just the male version of Jessica Alba. Gorgeous to look at but dead behind the eyes and unable to convey even the most rudimentary of emotions. In my opinion, of course...
  14. I just hope that the folks at Open Road are aware of this and take the steps necessary to give the film an opportunity to find an audience.
  15. I wonder if part of the reason it's trending relates to today being the tenth anniversary of Gossip Girl' s TV debut. Seems like EW.com has a million articles about it, and maybe there is a spike of internet interest in all things GG, which, obviously, include Lively.
  16. Are you kidding? He is the second coming of Laurence Olivier, dude. At the Oscars he was robbed for his razor-sharp, nuanced, deeply transformative work in Captain America: Civil War. And he is a brilliant comic genius (check out Not Another Teen Movie and What's Your Number ).
