  1. Caught a screening on Sunday. I dug it. Most interesting Burton project in a long while.
  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I hardly ever see POC characters in Guy Ritchie's movies. And I don't care if anyone thinks it's a lazy criticism or whatever, but Guy Ritchie is a classic case of "all styles little substance" director for me.
  3. Maybe there is something about Lilly Collins that I just couldn't seebut she's simply unappealing in movies I've seen of her so far. The trailers for this are decent enough but her acting in the central role still seems just as dull as it normally is.
  4. I really enjoyed the '74 version. Albert Finney played Poirot excellently. Speaking of which, @Jake Gittes, I finally got around to watch the Russian version of And Then There Were None. I liked it a lot. Actings were pretty solid all around, and I especially loved the theatrical atmosphere that was set and kept up with throughout the whole movie. I'm not the type that's obsessed about movie adaptations having to follow their sources to the T, but in the case of this classic AC novel, it's neat to finally see a version that kept true to the original book ending. Thanks again for the recommendation
  5. That sounds terrifying. But you never know, there are all kinds of people out there.
  6. Can't argue with that. I guess there is just no subtlety to be had when it comes to gay cowboys.
  7. @4815162342 @MrPink The movie has only been released for a week and I already see many shipping fanarts of Billy/Goodnight. Fuqua/Pizzaman knows their ways around that subset of audience.
  8. Yeah, definitely! He's a good actor, not terrific, top of the line or anything in Korea (in my opinion, cause there are probably others who claim otherwise) but he's very solid, has range and also charismatic. So it's been disappointing that all he had gotten so far in Hollywood are the typical deadly Asian assassin roles.
  9. I'm doing your job for you lol. I mean, it was enjoyable for the most part. But I wasn't impressed with any of the promo materials, so my expectatations were low to begin with, and the movie didn't do much to improve those initial impressions.
  10. If it had been Teller, critics and audiences alike will be scratching their heads over the very unrealistic scenario of why Emma Stone/Watson would fall in love with him instead of wanting to beat him to the ground.
  11. It didn't succeed, it failed too. He intended it to be a reverse curse and it backfired.
  12. I said this like a couple weeks ago but Mag7 disappoints is all @Nutella of Arabia's fault. His clubs have been consistently and effectively ridden with Shay's cursing powers nowadays.
  13. I love ScarJo but I can't stand behind this whole gross whitewashing situation. So yeah, not watching this one.
  14. Pratt started out good with GOTG, then it seems to go downhill from there. JW role was...lol. Mag7 looks like he's back to his comfort zone in the charmer role, but then that movie look to have others who are more interesting. He seems off to me in this one, especially when compared to JLaw. But well, he's likable and pretty to look at. That's good enough for me.
  15. Gong Yoo is having an incredible year! Train to Busan exploded and now Age of Shadows is doing very well too. Good for him. I have always liked him as an actor. My love Song Kang Ho with another hit Anyone knows if the movie is good?
  16. I don't blame people, I happily ignore Green Lantern if given the chance too. Unless you're Ethan of course. For me, DCEU so far has 2 mediocre (MOS, SS) and one bad movie. But hey, they're now on an upward trajectory! Maybe (hopefully) Wonder Woman will be a home-run quality-wise.
  17. Well, I'm waiting. Jury's out indeed. Maybe this one will turn out better than it looks. The alleged original script element creeps me out, but I like the leads well enough to retain the curiosity. Hopefully, they fixed/changed that aspect. All those things aside, I think it'll do well. Good release date, recognizable stars, and simple (potentially entertaining) story.
  18. That one is between me, @MrPink and @WrathOfHan Numbers is in the more prestigious club, The Hammer Alliance.
  19. I'm ready for my man Denzel doing his thing, Ethan Hawke being his charming self, Lee Buyng Hun with the same typical Asian shit that they always give him (however, me and @MrPink will take anything) and most of all, manbeast alien D'Onofrio! I am excite.
