Current summer schedule for 2016:

 

May 6 - Marvel untitled

May 27 - Alice in Wonderland 2

June 10 - Amazing Spiderman 3

June 17 - Finding Dory

June 17 - HTTYD 3

July 1 - Angry Birds

July 1 - Independence Day 2

July 8 - Marvel untitled

July 15 - Anubis

 

 

Still lots of room for other titles to sneak in there. And of course half of those dtes listed above are going to change anyway.

Shitty sequels. Can we get some original stories for once?

CF is about to get 83M+ for the 5-day weekend. Maybe ST3, DMTNT, SW spin-off or Prometheus 2 can open pre-Thanksgiving weekend and benefit from this. No big movie minus book franchises have opened here, want to see another one and 2016 is the first time post 2001.

With X-Men: Apocalypse for 2016, I think we're going to see some films move dates, does make it more difficult for films like Star Trek 3 to secure a good date for summer 2016.

? Planning a Summer 2014 start for Star Trek 3 would put in 2015 I would think.

If the schedule stays the way it is, mostly talking about AiW2 then POTC5 for April 1, NT3 for December 23 and IJV for November 11.

They could release Star Trek 3 during the winter. The older Star Trek movies came out around Thanksgiven time or in December.

Would be a close race, but with Avatar 2 FOX wins. DIS could win/closer if MU's would be IM4/Surtur Saga (Thor 3) combo.

2016 got a little more interesting with Superman vs Batman moving to May 6th 2016. No doubt Marvel's May release will move to either Spring either March 25th or April 1st or November 11th or November 18th.

Both of those characters are slated for the Netflix TV series, so I doubt there will be a film involving them.

 

Truth be told, I expected Doctor Strange in the May 2016 slot. It being moved probably isn't a big issue.

December might be tricky with Avatar 2, October is possible though. the original Daredevil film was a February so that would be a good release date but I think it's more likely to be Doctor Strange or Black Panther.

 

July 22nd is still unclaimed, I think Star Trek 3 could go there if Paramount still wants to release it in the summer but I think November would be better.
