There seems to be a lot of news about the west, but nothing for the rest of the country (unless I missed it) which is strange because California ia behind the rest of the country.

 

Ah gotcha. I think it did okay overall. It did especially well in Atlanta, GA. However, West Coast is blowing up!

I don't think I've ever seen a movie entirely "phoned in" like TH3.It's like the studios didn't even bother with marketing it properly. The trailers were painfully unfunny and from the little we saw of the cast, they just seem disinterested.That being said, TH2 was a terrible film and I can't for the life of me understand why people would even bother with another sequel.

If Furious really takes a bite out of Hangover, you could make a serious case for it missing 60M for the 5-day.

Agreed on all points. I'm just glad audiences obviously saw how phoned in it looked too, judging by the numbers. Let's hope this is enough to kill the franchise off, since it never should have been a "franchise" anyways.

My theater has sold out all 5 showtimes it had for Fast Six. Three 10 pm's, one 10:30 pm, and an 11 pm. Waiting to see when they will add more shows!

Guys lets not go overboard here. 7m midnights should be the goal and 105-110m 4 day. If we inflate expectations so much were all going to view it as a disappointment when the numbers come in. It's doing fantastic, but nowhere close IM3 levels. I want this to succeed more then anyone, but let's not lose our logic.

And as much as I want the hangover to fail it could easily rebound tomorrow, let's not write its obituary yet. We did that last week and look at what happened. If after tomorrow it doesn't gross a lot then we can get a good picture of what the weekend looks like.

Holy crap! Just checked my local Edwards Ontario 22 and there are 3 sell outs now but they added 7 more shows since the last time I looked! Now there are 13 total shows. LOL

Every movie that makes more then 2.5m for previews or midnights have sellouts and I'm not seeing IM3 sellout report levels yet. If it doubles fast fives gross that would be a fantastic result.

I just checked to see how that theater was doing. TH3 had 0 sellouts from that one and about half the amount of showtimes Fast 6 ended up getting.

I know...like the logic that SM3 was so bad it deserved a sequel rather than a reboot. I love that logic.

What reports are you referring to? It's not doing IM3 preview numbers. I do see more sell outs in Southern CA for previews than I saw for IM3. That's my own personal observation.
